Hilarious. I applaud the intention, but the execution is just awful. And I've always been a hardys fan.

NXT had a problem in that when the callups to the main roster happened those

I too questioned this but, of course, we must remember that "the outcome is the same" and that just throwing two names together randomly is much better for WWE's multi-million money making business. Even if it is creatively a turd thrown at the wall.

I still say Tessa Blanchard should have gone over in that match instead of being treaten like a jobber. Ive followed her career throughout several companies and she seemed a better worker. After the brand split I could see Bayley still being there if they dont have a top Diva to fill. Carmella Im wondering why she never went with Enzo & Cass.

Maybe they dont want to waste lesnar dates or something. We know Randy's been out with a shoulder injury I mean if your having him back on TV least have him show up on Raw as a suprise.

I don't know much about her, only that in the last few months rumours of a serious attitude problem. Seen it reported twice that she's a bit of a diva. Once in regard to a house show and another time giving attitude to Victoria/Tara.

Not that the WWE plan ahead, but I thought introducing Carmela later once the hype for Enzo/Cass had cooled a little would have been a good idea to give them a second boost.

For all we know the Lesnar contract might have certain dates set in stone (baring injury of course) and since SummerSlam is one of the big Special Events they might have had to pay him regardless if they used him or not. If that is the case then not using him would not have been on the table clearly

Of course we just ignore things like contracts and a business paying someone a massive amount of money and not using them due to factors that are beyond peoples control.

I am sure if you ran a business you would chuck massive amounts of money down the drain just to avoid something that is not fantastic from a "creatively" POV.

At least WWE are finally doing a Lesnar/Orton match. Should have happened so long ago that you began to wonder if they would ever do it.

And it's been announced without a build up but should still be a quality match.

Already anticipating the inevitable F5 into RKO reversal.

There will be lots of false finishes.

Face off.

Orton gets shots in, Lesnar sells a little.

Orton backs Brock into the corner.

Brock reverses and starts 15 minute beatdown on Orton cosnsisting of suplexes.

Orton gets an upper hand, maybe a low blow, does the RKO, Brock kicks out.

They fight outside, Brock puts Orton into the steps/barricade, they continue in the ring.

Brock sets him up for the F5, Orton reverses into another RKO, Brock kicks out.

They fight while both getting to their feet, Orton tries to do one of his signature moves, Brock does the F5 for the win.



That is how it will happen. Everyone over the age of 10 knows that is what will happen.

Some of the biggest draws in wrestling including during the hot eras did the same match over and over again. Obvious ones like Flair & Hogan, but HHH did it as well, always has it been thus.

My prediction for Summerslam remains Lesnar gets a concussion at about 4.50am tomorrow, and can't do it.

Yes because the only way to build the match is to have the two wrestlers in the ring together to announce it, I obviously forgot that.

An almost infinite number of ways to build and promote the match, if WWE would bother doing something risky or outside the box. None of them need necessarily involve using Lesnar's dates up. But nah, much easier just to slap Lesnar vs Orton on the poster and the WWE marks will eat it up anyway. This thread is proof that some people will excuse everything WWE does, no matter how creatively bankrupt it is.

Maybe instead of making them have a match Michael Cole can just flip a coin at the commentary desk. Saves money on a Brock appearance.

I can't see past a Lesnar win tonight. He looks in great shape and makes Hunt look like a middleweight when next to him. I know Hunt is a very good KO puncher but Lesnar wants this win more than any other UFC fight, so he can prove himself again.

With the height and strength advantage (plus speed), once Lesnar has Hunt on the ground it will all be over.

Regarding the Orton match, I think it is a very good match but also fear a little for Orton. Coming back from a very long injury lay off to face someone like Lesnar in his 1st match back. He has a history or neck/shoulder problems, so lets hope the whole suplex city stuff is finished and they don't go down that route.

Could be the start of a good relationship. They could do some work together on anti-illegal streaming as im sure it affects both

Probably a combination of two routes - Brock's UFC return, combined with Orton's old "legend killer" gimmick, gives a lot to work with. The obvious kick-off to the feud would have been Orton showing up at UFC 200 to shoot some sort of angle (again Brock doesn't even need to appear once - just the idea of Orton appearing on "his turf" ala DX/wCw is enough)

But nah sure a throwaway announcement on Smackdown is much easier than that.

Agree that they should of done something different in a way to announce this fight. You have two returning big names while the current product is very stale and ratings are down. Yet like you say they announce it very low key on Smackdown.

Again the creative team have overdone themselves. It really should be easy for them to come up with some good way in announcing a match between Lesnar/Orton.

I personally would of waited until this Monday to announce it. Then they would know if Lesnar would of won or lost at UFC 200. Orton could of come out to a huge pop as a surprise Monday night and played on a Lesnar win or loss. If Lesnar had won, like you say, they could play on Ortons old Legend Killer gimmick but if he had lost then Orton could of come out and mocked Lesnar. While mocking him play Lesnars music...Heyman comes out, sets up the SS match.

Just anything would of been better than what they did. They are wasting Lesnar as this is not the first time they have done this. The Hell in a Cell match against Taker last year was announced randomly during a WWE Network advert.

The WWE have one of the biggest names in the whole of the sports industry on their books yet since his match at WM 31 with Reigns they have wasted him.
