heard all the buzz about final deletion so checked out TNA for first time in years. was it OTT, cheesy, unrealistic and outright crazy? yup

also one of the best things i have ever seen. if i was in charge i would maybe have shot it less like a movie and in a more traditional format but no doubt it was very creative.

fact wwe copied it 1 week later speaks volumes i guess.

The CWC is taped apart from the live finale, so it would be ok.
Ahh okay, fair enough then.

The wwe one was filmed a few weeks ago so it looks like a coincidence. There were stories about it.

both right i imagine, the copying is what competition used to bring in the 90s

but tna are also not real competition, it was 1 segment.

caught wyatt scene, pretty good too. good stuff all round.

Just to say, that wasn't to take any side on the Final Deletion vs Wyatt Compound thing, I haven't and have no intention of watching either.

Although if the rules of being competition is copying one thing from another company, my Ham and Cheese sandwich makes me competition for Ginsters.

I seriously doubt that. Ginsters rule!

The TNA version was funny and OTT but at the same time embarrassingly bad. The WWE one was just plain bad but it did reinforce my opinion that the WWE should make a horror movie featuring the Wyatts. Maybe Wrong Turn part 666.

WWE's thingymabob was nowhere near as good as The Final Deletion in terms of all round insanity but it was still different are refreshing. They should do more of that sort of stuff. Anything to take the action out of the desperately stale arena set and general Raw format.

I haven't seen the thing with the Hardy Boyz and I haven't even watched Raw lately. But is what they did widely different from some of the stuff that was produced in the late 90's? For example: the Empty Arena match, Junkyard Invitational, Graveyard match etc.

Like I said yesterday Ive seen the Wyatts/New Day fight in the compound on Raw and I thought it was weird as hell plus it dragged on too long for my liking so long that I just couldn't follow what was going on. I can't comment on the Final Deletion segment cause I don't watch TNA nor would I want to see it.

The Wyatt/New Day segment was 5 mins tops. I thought it was really well executed - made the Wyatts look really strong and added to their weird cult-like status.

WWE say TNA are "not competition" to undermine them, to appear superior. To be dismissive.

Well, you can be dismissive of your competitor publicly, but when you raid them for talent and rip off their segments, that sentiment rings hollow.

They're only competition in a vague sense - slightly, but not by much, more than ROH, NJPW and AAA by default. Sure they've got merchandise in online stores, they've got a slot on a smaller US television network, run PPVs etc. But the gap is too big to consider them competition. Until they start running the major arenas again, strikes deals with the likes of Mattel and Take-Two Interactive, get their show on a major channel and relaunch on demand again they're too far away to consider competition.

Revenue
Television ratings
Television license fees
Live Event ticket sales
PPV viewers
Merchandise sales
Online presence

Which of these departments is TNA competing with WWE?

TNA ripped off WWE'S roster for about 8 years and their main storyline has pretty much always been heel faction of former WWE and WCW talent vs the homegrown faces of TNA. I cant possibly think where TNA got the idea for a group of outsiders trying to take over the promotion... There is so little that is new or unique in wrestling.

And im sorry but this idea that they've raided TNA for talent is stupid. Two wrestlers doesn't constitute a raid. AJ, Joe, Aries had all been left long before they signed to WWE.

Its great to have an actual fan of wrestling talking about it like Greg James. The interviews are so much less painful to watch.

If TNA wasent a competitor WWE wouldnt have No Compete Clauses on wrestlers contracts because WWE thinks all their fired stars will go to TNA like they used to when WCW was around.

It seems like WWE has no problem released stars working indy shows but TNA seems to be a different story.
