The United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition drug test administered June 28.

Lesnar, 39, returned to the Octagon for the first time since December 2011 to defeat Mark Hunt via decision. The pro wrestling star remains under contract with WWE and declined to say whether he would fight in a UFC match again.

Lesnar told The Associated Press in a statement, "we will get to the bottom of this."

The UFC announced Lesnar's potential violation on Friday. In a statement, the UFC said it was not informed of the potential violation until Thursday which explains why Lesnar was able to compete at UFC 200 on July 9 in Las Vegas.

"The UFC organization was notified today that [USADA] has informed Brock Lesnar of a potential anti-doping violation stemming from an out-of-competition sample collection on June 28," the statement said. "USADA received the testing results from the June 28 sample collection from the [World Anti-Doping Agency]-accredited UCLA Olympic Analytical Laboratory on the evening of July 14."

Under the UFC's anti-doping program, which is administered by USADA and went into effect in July 2015, results management and adjudication of the case falls to USADA, as well as the Nevada State Athletic Commission, due to the fact Lesnar's fight took place in Las Vegas.

The NSAC is already involved in another case regarding UFC 200. Former light heavyweight champion Jon Jones, who was removed from UFC 200 three days prior to the event due to a potential violation, is also facing discipline from the NSAC.

Lesnar (6-3) announced his retirement from mixed martial arts in 2015, but ultimately decided to return to the UFC for a "one-off," to which WWE agreed.

Lesnar has not before tested positive for banned substances in his UFC career. It is also unknown at this time what the potential doping violation is for a banned substance or a banned methodology.

The AP also obtained copies of three letters from the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency to Lesnar, informing the fighter that he had passed tests on three samples submitted over a nine-day period in mid-June, mere days before the sample with the potential violation was collected.

It is standard procedure for USADA to not immediately divulge the cause of the potential doping violation.

Under the UFC's program, any retired athlete who wishes to return to competition must first be subjected to a four-month testing window.

The UFC is able to grant exemptions to that requirement, however. Due to the unique circumstances of Lesnar's return and his contract situation with the WWE, the UFC decided to waive that four-month window for the first time.

Despite receiving an exemption for the four-month requirement, Lesnar did submit eight tests to USADA, according to the agency's website.

Hunt, 42, referenced that exemption numerous times leading up to the fight. In an interview with MMA Fighting on Friday, Hunt said he has asked UFC officials for half of Lesnar's $2.5 million guaranteed purse or to be released from his contract effective immediately.

"The cheaters get a slap on the wrist and walk off," Hunt told MMA Fighting. "What penalty or deterrent is there to make them think twice? Nothing. And the [Nevada Athletic Commission], why should these [expletive] get anything? They are not the ones who had to fight with Lesnar or lose [to him]. I lost."

Hunt told MMA Fighting that he has yet to hear from UFC.

When asked about the topic of performance-enhancing drugs during a pre-fight international conference call, Lesnar responded, "I'm a white boy and I'm jacked. Deal with it."

We will see how WWE deals with it this week. Personally I wouldn't do anything. Wrestling is a work, anything the talent take to enhance their looks is purely just that, for looks.

The New York state athletic commission covering wrestling may end up being the biggest issue here. It could in theory end up out of WWE's hands

Well done Lesnar, what a idiot. Although I did say on here the other month when the fight was announced that he looked very big compared to how he was at WM and now we know why.

The UFC is in a lot more of a mess than WWE, how many fighters are now being caught doing banned substances there now?! From their biggest PPV card in history you now have Jones and Lesnar, both from the original co main event being caught.

Going forward, you now can't have the WWE booking Lesnar returning from UFC with a victory as that will be reversed as a Hunt win in the future.

What a dick though, I say that as a huge Lesnar fan. Loved the fact he went back and proved every doubter wrong but so many UFC fighters are coming out since the news and loving the fact he failed.

No doubt the WWE will just brush it under the carpet, seeing as the boss is jacked as hell at 70 years old lol

I bet Brock did that on purpose just to be an asshole to Vince, Steph and co.

If only this news had come out two days or so earlier we could have got Heyman's view on this, as he was on a tour in this country!

Going to get fined at least $1.25 million by the Nevada state athletic commission, so I doubt that.

Remember when people were saying on here WWE may to want to sign a few of the competitors of the Cruiserweight Classic?

Well there's pretty strong reports that WWE has in fact signed both Kota Ibushi and Gran Metalik to contracts.

If true this is awesome news. Both are exceptional talents as has already been seen in the CWC, especially Ibushi who is just a quality wrestler.

It is good that they might have signed, but their roster of talent is becoming very bloated, unless they either promote a fair few for the draft, or increase the length of NxT, then it will at some point become a tad bit pointless in signing some very talented people, as there simply will not be the room for them.

Already we have hardly seen Eric Young since he showed up on NxT a few weeks ago, and the same goes for Roode, quite how they are going to fit in yet more people, I don't know.

NXT is a WWE owned brand. It puzzles me why anyone is surprised at them being the bigger than genuine independent federations.

D'Lo Brown is wrestling at the Cadbury Club today (opposite the Cadbury Factory in Birmingham) a five minute walk from my house but I'm out of town, would have been good to go.

Lesnar is a ticking time bomb. Not good for business as you can't rely on him not to do something stupid eventually. Get rid and groom a new Company Face.

Problem is WWE for whatever reason are so stubborn.

If Lesnar had not gone back to the UFC and say only been caught like Reigns had then this problem would not be half as bad. The fact it was such a huge story of Lesnar returning back to the UFC, winning against a top fighter, having lots of WWE wrestlers publicly come out (including Triple H) saying how great Lesnar was...only then to have him fail is a big embarrassment.

Such a shame as he should be coming back as a even bigger star than before and in the long term he could of been both UFC and WWE world champion. How things change in short a short space of time.

Draft rules revealed: Everything you need to know about the WWE Draft

With this Tuesday's WWE Draft on the premiere of SmackDown Live on USA Network fast approaching, WWE.com answers the biggest questions of the WWE Universe with a breakdown of the official rules, regulations and procedures for one of the biggest nights in WWE history — including a major update that will change the face of NXT as well.

The rules for the WWE Draft are as follows:

-Raw has the first overall pick
-Since SmackDown Live is a two-hour show and Raw is three hours, for every two picks SmackDown Live receives, Raw will receive three picks
-Tag teams count as one pick unless a Commissioner/General Manager specifically only wants one member of the team
-Six draft picks will be made off the NXT roster
-The list of current WWE Superstars eligible for the WWE Draft will be as follows:

Note that the Lucha Dragons and the Wyatts are listed as singles wrestlers suggesting they will split.

Also as far as NXT picks go surely it's going to decimate the upper card?

Logically you would assume the pics would be Joe, Finn, Nakamura, Asuka, Bayley and someone else... Aries perhaps? But that's your main eventers wiped out?

Unless it's done via "random" lottery.

Strowman and Rowan desperately need repackaging, so that makes sense to finally split the Wyatt Family.

Samoa Joe, American Alpha, Bayley, Finn Balor, Nia Jax and The Revival are my picks for the NXT selection.

I bet you Enzo Amore and Big Cass are split by Stephanie so that something heelish is down with at least one team. Then they sell the Battleground match as their swan song.

Fools and their money and all that

Last decent WWE game was 13. Been all downhill since then. Graphically the new titles are an absolute embarrassment to next-gen consoles. Feature wise they have less than Smackdown 2 which was released 17 years ago.
