There was at least kayfabe logic there. WCW started to pass of itself as what was left of the NWA, which had become meaningless by then. NJPW, All Star Wrestling (UK and Australia) etc had links to WCW and still recognised the championship. They corrected it within less than a year my merging with the WCW world title.

The WWE situation makes little sense.

I hate the whole "This is a woman's match". Why not just a single? They don't say "A mens match!".

Well at least Sami Zyan is in it.

He comes across to me as somebody who is much more comfortable in a heel role, even the way he walks to the ring (as in his face rather than the arm thing) is much more cocky heel than baby face. I like his matches, he's (IMO) a great wrestler but he needs something fresh.
