Tardis bird feeder
Isambard Brunel

Aldi are doing tardis bird feeders next week for £5:

Given that they don't use the word 'Tardis', but it clearly is one, I wonder if the BBC might complain?

I seem to recall that a court case resulted in the police retaining the right to make and use real police boxes, but for anything else it's considered the BBC's intellectual property.

If they were feeling really cheeky, in the description of the dimensions, they could've just written 'Relative'.

(no idea about the copyright on the image of a blue Police Box. Assume they checked!)

Hmmm, I think it's effectively unauthorised Dr Who merchandise. The BBC do own the trade mark. I wonder if they'll take any action.

Yeah, had a google and you're right about the trademark, despite the Met going to court about it. The BBC representative in court was a Mr Sherlock. I like that!

I know I'm a Doctor Who fan, but the Met's entire copyright case was absolute bull from start to finish - nothing more than a pathetic attempt to retrospectively cash in on the success of Doctor Who. Who the hell would even remember there were Police Boxes without Doctor Who?

I'm sure most of the public would call it a Tardis rather than a police box.

Who'd buy a Tardis bird feeder when Matt Smith can show you how to make your own?

Matt Smith is so handsome. Can fans invite him round to make a TARDIS bird feeder for them?

Can either be filled with seeds of death or seeds of doom. Are you sure it's from Aldi, and not Capaldi?

I've pre-ordered one anyway. Might help feed the Sally Sparrows with it.
