Is it bad that Joanne is one of the few characters I actually care about? I hope we see more of her before Kirkwood inevitably kills her off for no reason.

I rather think people who've lived with incest would be more offended at the ridiculous way it's portrayed in hollyoaks
well as someone who lived with incest i think it should be addressed and not laughed at

No. I know she was a bit one dimensional when she first appeared, but at least her actions were fairly justified in the wake of real Lisa appearing.

However, now that's over, what is there for her to do? She's barely been outside of the Lovedays and the lawyer role is filled by James.

Having said that, I agree she should stick around.

I've got the ep running in the background, new Lisa is horrid, fake Lisa is stupid. Don't like either!!

Of course you're the one m'dear

I was only blaming the barmaid for taking a long time serving me

Spoiler

I'm not fussed by either Lisa. As characters they're not bad but not that interesting.

I'm sorry to hear about your experience. The point we've been trying to make is that we feel Hollyoaks are making a mockery of the subject. We are not laughing at incest, which is horrific, we are mocking the show.

The show claim to tackle real issues sensitively, but it's far from that. The show is full of plot holes & sensationalised public reveals, OTT stuff etc.

Look at how they handled Cindy's bi-polar? We mocked that on here as well as got angry about it & how the show handled it. The show basically made Cindy into a horny nympo, coming onto Jason & turning up at the station in a wedding dress, leaning over Jason while talking about her writing about Mindy & Mason was just so cringe!!

I would have liked it if Tom cared for Jade in a non romantic way because he was scared of her dying from cancer in the same way Steph did, rather than a boring love triangle no one gives a shit about.
absolutely. But of course we have to have more boaring love triangles, because there aren't enough of the things.

What the **** is with everyone in Hollyoaks taking the blame for stuff other people have done.
It's an excuse to drag everything out way beyond it's sell by date. Something that got beyond boaring ages ago.

When did all this Tom being in love with Jade bollocks start?
When the writers pulled it out of their arses.

Jade is lovely. Tom should just tell her how he feels.
I agree.

Does Tom realise that he is trying to steal the girlfriend from his nephew who has cancer?!

Back off Tom! It's a crush, get over it.

Tom was so obsessed with Peri that he blackmailed Cameron into encouraging Peri not to just keep the baby, but also supporting a marriage when they turned 16, whether Peri wanted it or not. Now he has apparently moved on.

There has got to be only a handful of likeable people in this show now.
I doubt tom cares that he is trying to steal jade from alfie. Tom says jade will be with him whether she wants to be or not knowing how he behaved in relation to peri as you mention above. I agree there are very few likeable characters in this show now.

This s**t gets worse every night!!
Indeed it does. It continues to surprise me

We did Macbeth, Romeo & Juliet and a Midsummer Night's Dream! Lovethed every one tbh!
At school we had an assignment where we even had to work out the stage directions we'd put different characters in for Macbeth!! *rolls eyes*

We also had this assignment in English once about poems regarding death: I remember doing 'Death the Leveller' by James Shirley & having to write about the meaning of it!! *rolls eyes again*

Here is that cheery poem for you to see:

The glories of our blood and state
Are shadows, not substantial things;
There is no armour against Fate;
Death lays his icy hand on kings:
Sceptre and Crown
Must tumble down,
And in the dust be equal made
With the poor crookèd scythe and spade.

Some men with swords may reap the field,
And plant fresh laurels where they kill:
But their strong nerves at last must yield;
They tame but one another still:
Early or late
They stoop to fate,
And must give up their murmuring breath
When they, pale captives, creep to death.

The garlands wither on your brow,
Then boast no more your mighty deeds!
Upon Death's purple altar now
See where the victor-victim bleeds.
Your heads must come
To the cold tomb:
Only the actions of the just
Smell sweet and blossom in their dust.

So what do you think???

Actually that was a lie, she's a quick worker, she knows and gets exactly what I want before I get the chance to ask her

Spoiler

Zack is definitely the weak link. Simone and Louis are good. At least Lisa and Sonia have character behind them, they're alright. Jade is good though, even if the cancer story is yet another let down.

The destroying of Rachel's character is one of the most despicable things they've done, even by HO standards.
I completely agree. It's more proof there are no depths this show won't sink to.

Ellie, Marnie and Holly are all disgusting.
Yeah, agree. All nasty pieces of work.

Looks like it. I'm just so glad Kirkwood didn't kill him off. Lockie and Trevor were bad enough
I'm glad also, the fact kirkwood didn't kill him is the only actual shock the show has produced this year. He may do it yet though.

Is it bad that Joanne is one of the few characters I actually care about? I hope we see more of her before Kirkwood inevitably kills her off for no reason.
No, it's not bad at all. I'm finding her likeable now believe it or not.

Hahaha!! You should have seen the list of innuendo with said barmaid, I had lined up until I saw your spoiler!!??

I would say Simone is the best out the Lovedays. Don't like Louis or the kids. I'm not that keen watching Jade or Alfie, Peri & Tom tbh!!

I wouldn't say sneaky. I'd say you need some specs buddy? I actually did say what the poem was called & who wrote it before I quoted it!! LOL

BiB this is Hollyoaks we're talking about, no shortage of clients in the doo doos, contracts to be drawn up, divorces etc.

We now have three people in the legal profession, Simone, Joanne and James. I think James and Simone are lawyers (courtrooms, wigs etc) and Joanne is a solicitor, could be wrong on that though but Joanne and James are listed thus in Wiki, Simone I'm taking a guess at. I'm presuming that

a) James will have all the seriously dodgy clients

b) Simone, if we ever see her in legal mode again will be the consummate professional representing good and bad to the best of her ability

c) Joanne will work for the underdog because they are trying to redeem her.
