Hi all,
Hope you can help me. Thinking about how to mount a TV in our lounge. It will sit in an alcove to the side of the chimney breast, and so needs to be a centilever bracket. I am looking at, for instance, this one: https://www.amazon.co.uk/VonHaus-Dou...ilever+bracket
Planning to buy a 40" TV, and I see most have 200x200 vesa mounting.
The problem is that the height of the bracket mount will be higher than I want it to be - ther is an inconvenient plug socket with wiring going up to it. If the bracket goes immediately above the socket and the TV is central on it then the middle of the TV will be at about 44 inches, which is too high (I understand ideal is about 38-40 inches). It will be difficult to mount below the socket due to the mains wires.
First question - the two metal bars which attach directly to the TV - presumably these do not have to be centralised and I could put the TV on the lower holes to move it downwards? If this is the case, I understand that if I move it too low then the metal will become visible above - does anybody see a reason that you couldn't cut the bars at the top to prevent that from happening?
Hope that makes sense. Would be grateful for any advice/other people's experiences.

so is massive overkill for a modern lightweight TV, so no worries at all.
. Basically the middle of the screen should be around eye height when in your normal seating position.
