She should probably give blokes a miss when Steven inevitably turns on her and repeats the Ben/Abi drama!

If she has a thing for being kidnapped and held captive she should go for Steven.

Lauren has ZERO chemistry with any man she's paired with, the nadir being her "relationship" with Joey.

She'll end up back with Peter at some point as he is the father of her baby. BUT Lauren is destined to have a string of men. The length of the string will depend how long her character remains in the show.

Peter when he comes back with Thomas Law's face. I like her and Steven together but they have no long term future because he's destined to be with Johnny. Steven and Johnny would make a really cute couple.

Aww yeah Steven and Johnny would be interesting but I also like Steven and Lauren. Then again I'm not getting involved in soap couples anymore because Stendan and Brendan's exit devastated me

If "should" means according to what is sensible, Peter. If "should" means what is interesting for the potential of scripts, Steven.

My issue with this is why the writing has Lauren feeling it is okay to be with Steven. She has a child with Peter and they were engaged. To then get with his brother, which then impacts the 2 brothers future relationship is wrong imo and the writing is not addressing this clearly and it seems to not fit the character given what Lauren saw her family go through. Lauren's back for her family, but why is Steven back claiming he's trying to put his family together when his very relationship would come between Lauren and Peter even having an amicable "relationship" for their child's sake (if Peter did get a new head and return). And with Peter grieving, at some point he will want Louis in his life (surely in storyline purposes) and how difficult is that going to be with his ex dating his brother! (which I assume is the writing drama) I think Lauren owes Peter more than what the storyline has told us, given that it has only been a year since this all came out. It's a lot for Peter to process and the writing behind this is rubbish.

Lauren and Steven should have come back as friends.

Agreed with all of this. We shouldn't be asked to root for a couple who have not only betrayed Peter but have also moved to the other side of the world with Peter's baby in tow at a time when he was presumably still upset and grieving the loss of his relationship.

It feels to me like they did it for a cheap 'twist' (which everyone predicted anyway) but when the dust is settled it's going to feel even more glaring that it was the wrong decision. Hopefully they can recast Peter to at least come back and challenge this mess. I do like Steven a lot and think he has potential, but while he's going on about fixing the family while continuing to shack up with his brother's ex, and helping her to bring up baby Louie, it's going to be hard to take a positive interest in his relationship.
