In fact, of late the Euros seems to have been more consistent than the World Cup. I can't actually remember a bad Euros (some foreign observers suggest Euro 96, but to an Englishman the whole thing was amazing), but there have been some forgettable World Cups in recent years. Brazil was probably the best in quite a while.

That's because the Euros were an exclusive competition. Now it's been extended it will be as rubbish as the recent World Cups

Well as I said in the other thread I'm not in favour of the expansion to almost half of UEFA members, but if it turns out as "rubbish" as Mexico 86 or Spain 82 I'll be happy enough

But those were World Cups, so 24 best teams from around the world (i.e. South America, Europe and Africa). 24 good European teams are much harder to find

Not sure about that, I think Euro 2016's teams can at least match the likes of Kuwait, El Salvador, New Zealand, Canada, Iraq and Scotland.
