im guessing he's going to be away for quite some time, and quite often when a young character leaves they return years later with a different head. Do you think they'll keep the same actor?

Elliot is a great little actor, hope they do keep this one, a bit of a treat for old time viewers, I hate when they recast, for example, Martin Fowler, have gotten used to him now but would have preferred the old one, but that saying, Ben Mitchell is the best recast in my eyes.

If he goes off screen for any significant amount of time it will be hard to keep the actor waiting for his chance to come back

And if he is really all that he might end up in regular work and no need/want to come back

He's too cute and childlike I reckon for when he inevitably gets worse inside. I bet any money they'll recast him with someone that's older and looks more gritty and threatening.

I like this actor and the fact that he is a child, I don't want a "gritty" recast actor.
I hope Eliot and Bleu (Denny Rickman) stay as they are. Their rivalry should be immense to watch in the future.

I'm shocked that Harry Reid has won you over but not James Bye... he has made Martin Fowler the best he has been ever. Ben Mitchell grates on me and the legend of Eastenders is that if you shout loud enough it will mean viewers warm to you quicker.

Ryan Hawley (no relation lol) has made Robert Sugden in Emmerdale an outstanding character. Recasts can work.

If it happens then it happens but I hope not in this case.

Hopefully not. I can't imagine another actor doing eerie like this kid does. I was gutted when he took over because previous Bobby was just too innocent and cute, but this one has grown on me. I can imagine him going on to do future roles similar to Patrick Bateman or Norman Bates. I can also imagine Bobby becoming a hybrid of those two characters. He'll get his Patrick Bateman from Ian and Norman Bates from Jane.

Christian Bale and Anthony Perkins would be proud

The problem with Martin is that the old actor played the character for 10 years and was involved in huge storylines. He was too well known IMO to be recast.

The reason why Robert worked in Emmerdale is because recasts are a rare thing in Yorkshire but in Eastenders it happens all the time.

I used to agree but apart from Ian Beale and Sonia Jackson no one from the past really cared about his return .

Robert had Victoria Barton, Andy Sugden, Katie Sugden and Diane Sugden to interact with from the old days. Luckily the actor gelled with the cast.

Yeah that's a huge problem for new Martin. He has never interacted with any of the original Fowlers and sadly never will since their all dead except Michelle who will never return.

I just think for that reason it was easier for James to settle in. Kush Kazemi, Stacey Fowler and many others have made his character ease into the show.

If he gets help for his obvious mental state and is deemed rehabilitated then of course he will be. Plus he is a child and the killing of his sister Lucy Beale wasn't planned and he didn't kill his adopted mum Jane Beale.
