iCloud woes
I'm uploading photos to the icloud to free up some space, however I cant access the icloud from the ipad, I can access them from my PC at icloud.com but going via the safari browser on the ipad takes me to 'set up icloud on this device' which after clicking on that takes me to a blank page...in any case it already is setup
All I want to do is login to access the pics... Is there a dedicated icloud app? also whats the difference between the icloud and the icloud drive? |

You don't need to go to iCloud.com in Safari on the iPad. Just turn on iCloud photos in settings. Then everything should eventually be visible from the Photos app once everything synced.
iCloud Drive is a just a way to access documents/data etc on iCloud. It's similar to Dropbox, Google Drive etc. Best to let the Photos app handle cloud stored photos though. |

So just to check, all the photos (some 3,000+!) are now uploaded to the icloud, so if i go into 'photos' and delete them all they will still be there via the cloud?

If you want extra peace of mind install Google photos and back them up to there for free.

In addition to what psionic said, you need to use the iCloud for Windows app if you are not doing so already. This will provide sync services for your PC without going near a browser.
You can find out about it, and download it, here. Next, go to your iPad, choose Settings>iCloud and assuming it's logged in to iCloud choose Photos. Make sure iCloud Photo Library is On. Syncing won't happen instantly depending on how many photos need uploaded between devices, but the result should be that anything in the folder selected in iCloud for Windows should sync to the iPad automatically, and likewise for any photos taken on the iPad - they should sync back to your PC automatically. Good luck! |

This is why Windows tablets are so much simpler. Need more space? Just add a micro SD card. Or plug in a USB stick and save the photos to that. Or use their cloud storage of course. Every photo I take with my Windows phone appears automatically on my PC.
It just works, as the saying goes. |
