No announcement on him joining. Expected to be a background character. Full of intrigue. Brilliant actor too.

Sometimes less is more. We dont need a big character announcement everytime or labels thrown out eg "new hunk".

He has been on our screen for months and still is a very interesting character. Slowly we're finding the pieces to the jigsaw finding out a bit about him. Not being rushed and not being dragged out.

I agree I'm interested in what Andy wants. However I hope he doesn't turn out like Vincent. Vincent was a mysterious character (although he was announced) and we gradually found out that he had links with both Kim and Ronnie.

He kept making surprise visits to Ronnie in the hospital and he found out about Carl. Kim also said she left him after seeing him with blood all over him. His character started off with a lot of intrigue however now he's just an overprotective brother.

Oh God...no. I can't stand him. It's annoying me how he sprung from nowhere and the regulars are treating him like an old friend. Hope he doesn't stay long. I don't think I can tolerate his punchable face for much longer.

I get the feeling he is Dean's replacement, not just because he's dating Roxy, and that we will be forced to hate him. But on the other hand, I don't want him to be a weak character like the Moon brothers, either!

Agree. There's just an overriding smugness about him.

I am interested for now. However if they drag it out too long then I will lose interest. Plus Roxy Mitchell does not interest me at all so I am especially losing patience with the character and plot.

Nice to have a stand alone character who has made several connections with quite a few of the squares residents already.

He is definitely better than Vincent, in keeping the mystery alive. Vincent is just a very bad actor

I agree with both of these posts. He's not even much of a character really. All he does is look smug and stalk women.

No. He is good, but not the best. That would be Belinda.

He is great to watch. A stand alone character who's so intriguing too. Also like Belinda.

He's so intriguing and slightly vulnerable which is always good. Can't wait to see what happens next.

This is the most I've been invested about a new character since Michael Moon!

Really hoping he was going to be gay or at least bi. Roxy is wasted on him.

Belinda is the best character to come out of the show in the past few years, however I am intrigued by Andy. I don't like him though, he is very smug, and has an ulterior motive, but that's what makes interesting viewing and I can't wait to see how this story develops. I will be very shocked if he kills Roxy!

I think the castings this year have been really good: Belinda, Andy, even Johnny - and also, bringing back Aaron Sidwell to play Steven. Even the characters like Alison Slater or Linzi were good casting choices.

Rita may not be leaving, but SOC is well within his rights to terminate her contract if he wants to. I really like the character of Roxy and Rita is a great actress. I don't want her to be axed, but if she were to receive a huge exit, by being killed off, I wouldn't mind her leaving then. I'm not sure the writers know where to go with the character any more. I also agree she limits the character of Ronnie whenever she is around. A shame as they used to be a great duo, but Ronnie is the better character these days.

Roxy's a brilliant character when given the right material. She proved that at Christmas with the Dean story, and for the first time I really felt the character had progressed and grown up when reporting his crime to the police. She showed some real maturity, especially by being quite head strong and not allowing Ronnie to s/mother her throughout. But since she's returned she's been a mess and is allowing herself to be lured into Ronnie's clutches again.

I feel the writers just prefer her to be the 'weaker' sister of the two.

He is a plank of wood just like Dean and Ryan were. For decorative purposes I prefer Kush and Steven.
