Myself and a work colleague watch this in the school holidays. We feel bereft when we have to return to work!
Must admit it has taken me a bit of time to get used to Dion but I feel like he's becoming part of the furniture. (Insert music pun playing randomly in the background) I love guessing which projects actually listen to Lucy and Martin. Oh and I can also spot non-standard construction a mile off on my Right Move app. *proud* ![]() |

I find all the BBC property shows to be very much the poor relations of those shown on Channel 4.

It annoys me when they get all misty eyed over sash windows, bare floorboards and fireplaces. Sash windows are draughty and rattle and end up getting sealed with sellotape. Bare floorboards are draughty through the gaps and you get splinters walking barefoot on them. Fireplace were boarded up because smokeless zones were introduced which banned burning fossil fuels and people had central heating installed.

I love watching Homes Under The Hammer and I think Dion is great on it, and after a shaky start I think he has improved a lot.
I find Victorian fireplaces an attractive characteristic in a room, I don't know why some people board them up with ugly boards. They can just keep them as a feature without using them as a heat source. It kills the character of a property when the original features are removed or covered up, imo. As for original floor boards, they can easily be sanded, but personally I would prefer carpets or other floor covering. Windows I would probably replace if in poor condition. |

Oh, Dion is back.
I won't forget a few weeks ago when he saw a down stairs toilet and said 'that's great news'. Couldn't they have found no one better? |

Has there been any episodes with just Dion and Martin yet, what with Lucy leaving to be the face of Carpetright. I can't imagine them two doing that overly cosy link outside a country house that they do in the middle.
Yesterday's was a classic, where the neighbours bought the adjacent property just so they could claim loads of the land to get a bigger garden and more garages. |

Still getting used to Dion, and i can't look at Martin in the same way now after watching I'm A Celebrity...poor thing.
Also, is it just me or are there more houses under the hammer in Stoke than anywhere else? |

Yeah, a lot of the houses are oooop north and most look the same!
I live down south so would like to see more nearer me but I suppose we don't have that many run down houses. |

Ones without Lucy don't seem to have aired yet. I wonder if they will bring in a replacement for Lucy. Sunil Shah maybe.

Perhaps they cannot get an estate agent to submit to filming in the auction! We often get houses in the Devon area where that bloke with the striped jacket works.
