EastEnders has been feeling very 2008 lately
With the return of Steven Beale, and Christian and Lynda Clarke to visit Jane. Then there's Ronnie skulking around Roxy with Jack in the middle - not to mention the throwback storyline about Danielle involving Andy - who's been lurking around the sisters and Stacey since he arrived. We just need Janine back now and it would almost be like he's pin-pointing the 4 women who were there when Danielle died.
Who knows, Peggy's upcoming funeral might have a feeling of 2008's Frank week? Then there's other characters who were only becoming quite prominent in that era still around today, Masood, Shirley, Denise... and Dean and Shabnam aren't long departed, not to mention the fleeting reappearance of Lucas and the occasional visit from Libby. The only thing that stops it being a complete 2008 throwback is the lack of Brannings, but that's not a bad thing. Their overuse that year is what made 08 is my least favourite Santer period - I mean, 2 murder attempts on Max Branning within 6 months?! |

2008 wasn't this depressing there was laughter with the drama.

EE need to do a massive stunt, kill off all the dead wood and freshen the show up. They should start by getting Ross Kemp to return for at least a few years as Phil and Grant are two of the shows most popular characters. I would kill Ben off as he just keeps going round in circles and give Jay a lot more to do.

What a good thread I thought this last week, it seems very dull and depressive (I don't mean in a boring way if that makes sense.)
Families have been wiped out minus the beloved Carters and that part of the show seems to have vanished. |

I agree with this. I hope when SOC comes he makes the programme more interesting and put more energy in to it. Atm Dtc is make the programme so boring and depressing to watch during his time.
Some of the actors look bored and the teens on the show have been axed left right and centre. |

2008 - The extended Carters didn't exist. That automatically makes it 100% better IMO.
SOC first job - get rid of these Carter that have sucked the life out the show. |

Belinda would be great in the pub. Maybe even for the first year Neville could be with her. There arguments could become classic moments and great comedy. Belinda would probably improve how The Vic looks as well. Anyone else agree about Belinda and Neville in the Vic. If Janine returns I can see Janine trying to get Neville and it would make great Drama between Belinda and Janine.

That's hardly a good thing. 2008 was disastrous for the most part.

Gawd, I hope this doesn't mean surprise returns for Callum and Vinnie Monks!
