I can't do a poll because I haven't been a member for long enough, but It got me thinking last week when I saw that both Corrie & Emmerdale have an episode next Sunday (19 June) due to Euro 2016 matches. Corrie occasionally does Sunday episodes to make up for lost ones during the week, but Emmerdale hasn't had a Sunday episode in years. Personally, I would like it If Emmerdale axed the 8pm Thursday episode and replaced it with a Sunday one (the original schedule) so that it's 7pm every night Sun - Fri, and for Corrie to move one of the 8:30pm episodes (either Monday or Friday) to Sunday too.

I think it would be a good way to freshen up the soaps so to speak, as on Sunday's characters can be shown not at work, doing other activities etc.
I don't know why they axed the Sunday episodes in 2008, but would you like to see CS & ED on Sundays again?

Absolutely would love to see them back. Not only that but a shake up to the schedules in general for CS - drop the 8.30 episodes on a Monday and Friday and ideally drop the number of episodes down to 3 or 4 - if you're going to three cut the Friday episode and move the Wednesday to Thursday so either.

Monday 7.30pm
Wednesday 7.30pm
Friday 7.30pm and
Sunday 7.30pm

or Monday 7.30pm Thursday 7.30pm Sunday 7.30pm

Yes, I think even cutting them back to 4 episodes a week Sun, Mon, Wed & Fri would be good for the show, however, sadly I think it's highly unlikely, and If anything the number of episodes are likely to increase to six (Like Emmerdale)

True, but I meant episodes that are set on Sundays so that we can see the characters in different settings, not at work for example (It might help to freshen up storyline options) I remember when there was the cricket match with Weatherfield against another team, that was done on a Sunday, and was something different. Also, It would get rid of one of the double bills, two doses of corrie twice a week is too much imo, especially given the current state it's in.

Oh I'm sorry. Yes I never noticed that when they aired on Sundays.
100 percent yes, I'm shocked Stuart Blackburn didn't want to carry that on seeing as his goal was to present he mundane life of the residents.

No - I'd sooner see Corrie go back to three times a week in its traditional slots. Fat chance of that.

I'd love to see ED Sunday episode come back.

I also would like a full hour for one episode - much more enjoyable.

Depending how far back you go one of the traditional slots was Sunday.

I'm interested to see if Emmerdale's episode next Sunday is actually Set on the Sunday, the continuity regarding days has been all over the place recently (mostly due to football) for example Friday's first episode was clearly the second half of Thursdays, and then Friday's second was Friday (so the next day) anyway, I do digress, I agree with the one hour episode too, didn't they used to have one on Tuesdays before the two part Thursday came in?

Ideally though I'd like Emmerdale Sunday - Friday at 7pm like James J has said.

CS in its current state needs to cut an episode or two if anything, not add.

It wouldn't be adding, as I said in the OP it would be taking one of the two eps from either Monday or Friday and moving it to Sunday.

No as an Emmerdale fan I think we are privileged to be able to watch it 5 days a week, that's more than enough. Because I watch four over soaps too, I don't get much time to watch much else not that I'm complaining much

No. Actually, I think that Emmerdale could do with reducing the quantity of episodes per week, as the quality clears suffers. Personally, I would get rid of the Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday episodes.

Obviously not an Emmerdale fan as you sound like you would axe the show

For me:
Corrie should be on Sun, Mon, Wed and Fri at 7:30, and Thurs at 8pm.
Emmerdale should be on Sun - Fri at 7pm.

ITV originally moved the soaps from Sunday to create more entertainment shows. Shows like Dancing on Ice, Family Fortunes and Catchphrase have been shown on Sundays, but none of these shows get the ratings like the soaps.

But Sunday nights are so poor now, Dancing On Ice has gone, so they have room to bring them back.

Entertainment belongs on Saturdays. Sundays always worked best with 7-8pm Soaps and 8-10pm drama. There's not enough entertainment for Saturday and Sunday - never has never will be.

No major soap requires more than four episodes a week, IMO.

Emmerdale - 7pm Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
Corrie - 7.30pm Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday
EastEnders - 8pm Sunday, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday

No clashes, same times, same days every week. Then on Fridays and Saturdays we could have something different. I don't like the total domination of soaps during the week between 7 and 9. The above schedule would break it all up a bit.

Anything but the doubles. I still wish they were both stripped across a five day week.

Or Monday to Friday each of them in the same slot.

You could always watch a film or something else on Netflix.

I know, and quite often I do, but I was just referring to the ITV schedules

I still remember the ITV trailer from 20 years ago "Corrie's now on Sundays!" All i remember was seeing Mavis in a posh hotel jacuzzi

I do miss watching it on a Sunday, in the cozy 7:30 slot before Heartbeat. The Friday 8:30 episode feels so wrong. It's the lowest rated episode of the week.
