Understanding LGBT Mental Health
Hi all,
I just read this article and wanted to share on here. http://www.theguardian.com/world/201...l-straitjacket I've seen both a lot of general discussion in the soaps over the last year around LGBT characters and their mental health, such as Ste in Holloaks and ED's Aaron. And in these soap forums more specifically, where I've noticed high numbers of gay members on here discussing mental health related issues, such as anxiety, depression attempted suicide, me being one of them. I think this is an important article to read if you are straight too, because this affects us all and needs to be talked about. After all, straight people make gay babies Sorry it's not more soap speficifc, but I think it does relate to many of our own lives, as well as some of the characters in our favourite soaps. And after all, soap does try to reflect real life. Much love xx |

Very good article. Some very accurate and reflective views expressed which I liked. The world really needs to continue it's progress with LGBT attitudes.

Great read.
Is this maybe best left in the General Discussion section as to not stifle actual soap threads? |

Thanks for this and I actually think this belongs here as the OP mentions soap characters.
