Dog's eye is bloodshot
I didn't notice it earlier today before I went out nor did my wife but since we've got home my pet Staffy has developed a bloodshot eye. It's the white of the eye which is blood red and I don't know if it's a trauma injury caused when she accidentally banged her head against a door or something more worrying
She's 7 years old and her sister died from eye cancer a few years ago aged 2 and it is this which is concerning me. Has anybody had similar happen to their pet in the form of bloodshot eyes? Obviously if the eye is still the same tomorrow she'll be taking a trip to the vet. |

Never seen it in a pet, but it's very common in people. Usually caused when a small blood vessel in the eye, bursts. Often due to sneezing. Clears up in a few days. Some people seem quite prone to them.
Sub conjunctival haemorrhage, I think it's called. Yes, it does occur in dogs - clicky |

One of those times when a quick visit to the vet would be best IMO, put your worries to bed as it were.

Eyes can turn nasty quickly so I'd say a check up to be sure. Hope it's nothing.
