Can someone confirm if both Rooney and Eden Hazard will take the penalties for their national teams respectively? Thanks.
sounds like you are gambling on golden boot!

Is it that obvious

I got Hazard at 50/1 but not stupid enough to back Rooney golden boot But I think him to finish Englands top scorer at 5/1 is decent value. Obviously helps if he takes the pens over Kane which I believe he will (seeing as Kane missed his last one too vs Turkey)

Surprised to see Jacqui Oatley on the ITV team.........I thought she was BBC through and through

Slavan Bilic could be a good signing

Tho to be honest I've only got this on for the opening ceremony..........I'll revert to Radio 5 for the actual matches and build up after the Opening Ceremony is over

She's freelance and has done quite a few ITV highlights shows of late. It is a bit odd to see her pop up on both networks, though.

Think that ITV backdrop might work OK when the sun's shining. Right now it looks like Manchester! Well, apart from Notre Dame.

Not if it's Guy Mowbray, He's terrible, but appears to the Beeb's number one for the foreseeable future. Given the choice I will take any ITV commentator over him. The annoying thing is that the BBC have other decent commentators.
I agree, don't like Mowbray, he's as up himself as they come and not even that good a commentator. Steve Bower is much better.

I don't like Clive "the Iranian players have their Christian names on their shirts" Tyldesley either. I liked Andy Townsend but they got rid of him. Sam Matterface is a great commentator though.

When did it become the fashion for footballers to attempt to sing along with their anthem?? Much prefer when they idly look down trying to look pensive and proud! : rolleyes:

Personally I think Tyldesley is very good. He gets a lot of stick because he's ITV's main man. Also like Steve Bower and Steve Wilson, and yes Sam Matterface is good from the few matches of his I've seen.

Yes, I know we're only one game in, but Dimitri Payet's goal has got to be a contender for goal of the tournament?

Such an amazing strike.

I like Steve Bower, as he had a great partnership with Paddy on MUTV for a good number of years!

I'm sure the England players will be slaughtered for not singing it at loud as they can if they lose any of their matches.

Comparisons will be made with those "loud and proud" England rugby players today I am sure by some in the media..

Daley Thompson did it best, a jaunty whistle to accompany GSTQ.

England fans should be worried, they always lose when on ITV, or maybe they always just lose two of three groups games ?

Remember when only good teams could qualify for the Euros with just sixteen teams. Those were the days when Europe could proudly say our continental championships were basically the World Cup without Brazil and Argentina.

This tournament will only get competitive at the semi-final stage when the big boys step up to the plate.
I think England should be more worried about the fact they've never won their opening fixture in this tournament in 8 attempts than what channel is showing it.

Can't see how the failure of past teams consisting almost entirely of different players and coaching staff has any bearing on the likelihood of this England team winning their opening game. It's just a statistical quirk. Eight past games is not a huge sample.

He should not be anywhere near football and the media. A horrible idiot.

We would have a faith healer in the team hotel again!

BBC Wales Sport Verified account@BBCWalesSport

Wales goalkeeper Wayne Hennessey has been ruled out of their Euro 2016 opener against Slovakia today because of a back spasm.

Looks like Hennessey will be on the bench and Liverpool's Danny Ward will stand in. Will be interesting to see how he does.

Apparently he's just returned from a loan spell at Aberdeen. Only has 3 caps for Wales.

French media reporting that several people have been injured and tear gas has been fired in the last few hours with more clashes between rival fans in Marseille.

Beer in hand, shirt off, arms wide looking for trouble for a 4th day in a row.

I'm sorry to say, if thus keeps happening England should go home in disgrace
