Hi - not sure if anyone will be too interested but just thought I would mention something I am doing at the moment which I love.
Im currently a host for a company called Barking Mad - basically they are an alternative to kennels - so if the dog owner goes on holiday and does not want to use kennels, does not have family or friend cover then can pay Barking Mad to find a host for their dog.
As a host I really just get to give walks and cuddles - the dog turns up with all his food, blankets, bedding, toys and lead - I also get what they call a pet schedule which is basically one sheet of paper with all the dogs dislikes, likes, feeding and walking habits- also anything else i need to know like medicines.
Like I say all I do is walk, cuddle and provide a safe place for the dog while the owner is away.
I also have to write a postcard from the dog for the owner.
I would love a dog of my own and will get one when I am older but its just not possible at the moment - I find this scratches my doggie itch!
I love it - have had the same dog several times so really feel I have a relationship.

Sounds like a good idea I guess you must have insurance and guarantees but personally can't imagine mine not coming on holiday with me, bought a static caravan for them after many years of camping and caravanning with them.
