Cowell: X Factor USA wasn't cancelled, "we were offered another season".

I do not believe this for a second, and I hope FOX comments, and even if they were offered a fourth season it would have been hugely cut back and made for previously made contractual agreements. He could have taken a back seat if he wasn't up for it, there's no reason his face has to be on the judging panel. He seems to think that every show in the UK and US just couldn't work without him - he's even attached himself to the America's Got Talent judging panel now, I actually think The X Factor UK would do better without him on it - but he's too arrogant to even consider it.

It's no coincidence that, following a natural decline the previous years, the show slumped hugely within two years of Simon's return. Last year was awful, he ruins it, with his support of terrible acts like Reggie n Bollie he's ruined all of his credibility and he has been repeating the same lines over and over for years now. He doesn't even need to finish his sentence, we all know what's coming. For the show's sake he needs to take a break - not just from X Factor but from Britain's Got Talent too.

Hilarious, is he still peddling that story. Everybody in the USA knows it was axed, because of the ratings. It was being beaten by C-list shows like The Sing-Off at one point. And if it really was the case he was tired, Fox could have aired the show without him on the panel.

Of course, Simon. Of course.

Simon announced he was returning to the UK series and then Fox said it wouldn't be returning because of that. "There is no X Factor USA without Simon" a boss at Fox said at the time. Not exactly cancelled.

That does seem like a face-saving exercise though.

The show's only saving grace was that there was the occasionally talented act on it - still not up to the levels of Idol or The Voice however. It was shoddily produced, rushed and had some of the worst judges and presenters in talent show history. It really is no wonder it wasn't popular.

I didn't get sacked from my last job, they just stopped paying me money to work.

X Factor USA will be a case study in how to botch production, editing and live show song choices. It's actually staggering how inferior it ended up being to the UK version.

In a currently of 300 Million for only 3 Million watched the last season. Meaning 297 Million did not even know who won.

Considering how bad some of the judges and presenters were when the show WAS getting full support from Fox (Mario & Khloe, Demi, Paulina etc) I can only imagine who they would've had to settle for of the show had come back for season 4 on a reduced budget.

What matters more on US TV is not viewers in millions, but the Nielsen ratings. A show X Factor USA went from 3.1 in the final of the 2nd series to 1.7 in the last one. That is a pretty horrendous score and why the show was cancelled.

The USA version did worse on the song choices than the UK one?

Thank god I've never properly watched their version of The X Factor if that's the case.
