Under 22's had two decent technical singers in Isaiah and Amalia but are a bit dull so far, and Natalie offers more passion, but is a bit too shouty for my tastes, and her style of Music is overdone on talent shows.

Over 22's has promise in Timmy I reckon, if they manage him properly and don't turn him karaoke like they did to Jimmy Davis last series, Chynna not my style, but again showed some passion which I like, I wasn't very keen on Davey, he looked like he wasn't even trying imo.

Groups I give kudos to Brentwood, that was very good, I doubt they'll do too well though as they'll be too similar to Jess & Matt last year.

Under 22s...
regarding having the overall X Factor (voice, attractive, likable, marketable, etc).. I thought 2 of the best got cut: Vlado & Bailey Spalding. These 2 don't necessarily have the biggest voices... but they are the 2 I remember most... and 2 I that would make me want to watch the show.

Vlado... has the most Youtube views of all of the auditions & would make it deep into the comp as he would get a lot of teen girls voting for him... Attractive, good voice, good performer, likable (compelling backstory), he's 16 & certainly marketable.
Bailey... for me, her voice was the one I could most imagine hearing on the radio (even though it isn't the biggest voice). She is certainly attractive & is likable. I'm not exactly sure if how she would fair regarding votes- I could see it going either way... but she is definitely marketable & seems humble so I actually think people would vote for her.

Over 22s...
The 1 that stood out most for checking all the boxes ... was also cut in this category... Ruby Mills. (Zebulen is also one that remember most, although he would definitely be a risk- His voice is very unique & I could hear it being on the radio.

Ruby... But Ruby was Guy's big mistake cut, imo. For me, she was the best all-around in the over 22s. I could see her having a career, she's attractive, great voice that is fairly unique, she's marketable, and she is very likable & I think ppl would vote for her.

Groups...
No groups this year really grabbed by attention as being super memorable..

Under-Dogs...
MelB has a lot to choose from, But I think she should definitely choose Vlado & either Ruby or Bailey

Do we know if Mel has one from each category? To be honest I'm not sure there's any point in bringing back a group, Iggy made the right decisions imo. She definitely has to take Ruby, no question, she was my favourite of the whole seat challenge and I think she'd do very very well. She could have two of Adam's then tbh, hopefully Ivy is one because her voice is insane.

I would go for Vlado, Ruby and maybe Beatz. The underdog judge makes only sense for me if she puts one act each category through.

I wasn't very keen on the night to be honest.

I liked Brentwood (although they won't survive this new vote twist) Natalie was ok, I also thought that Timmy and AYA was ok.

Maddison has potential, but she screwed up after the beginning segments which looked more interesting imo.

Time And Place, and Beatz were car crash.

X Factor Australia has always outshone the other territories for its high production values. The stage looked barren for nearly every performance.

The show appears to have used up most of their budget on Iggy and Adam's judging fees.

It will be last season for a while. Ratings are more than bad compared to the last years. What have they done with the show? AU always had great acts but this year it's all cruel. Judges, most of the acts and definitely the whole format.

I have to agree. The performances looked so poor. No production apart of the big screens compared to the uk show. Low ratings + Iggy and Adam's judging fees have really affected the budget of the show. Too bad because there is a lot of talented people this season.

My first thought was budget. Mel B coming back after all that messing about with the networks would have meant that she'd have come back on a higher fee.

My second thought was test group feedback. I love the production, but it may have been coming up.

They definitely ****ed the panel up last year. They should have kept Nat with Dannii and made a better choice about who was joining alongside Guy's return.

Did they get rid of the previous host due to his private life? He was great at his job and extremely likeable. The new one is attractive, but that's about it.

Beatz - 7/10 (I think Sax is a song that is hard to take and make your own, it's got Fleur's attitude and it seems a bit eh for anyone else. I love their energy and determination, but I don't expect them to survive this week.)

Timmy - 6.5/10 (it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't that great either. He's competent at singing but I think Guy was right, he has a tendency to sound like a busker and eh I don't like that)

Amalia - 6.5/10 (singing wise, I can't argue with that but Mel was totally right. It was so boring, for a young girl it was just dull and depressing. I know that's her voice but eh just not my thing. It's not all about being technically good, and she totally shows this)

Time and Place - 3/10 (I'm biased as Twenty One Pilots are in my heart, but that was a mess. I think they're at even more of a disadvantage when they skipped Judges' Houses, they've had even less time and practice. They just don't fit together yet and it was a totally wrong song)

Chynna - 8.5/10 (Obviously her voice is insane and it just rocked the song <3 I do wish she had a less dated and karaoke sort of song but she has one of those dynamic voices that just works no matter what!)

Maddison - 7.5/10 (as with Chynna, her voice just always draws me in but that song choice was just a mess. It's more subdued so I wish Mel just gave her a big diva song in the first place, the arrangement and Maddison's vocal felt odd for it. But it was very competent so I pray she gets through!)

Isaiah - 7/10 (objectively good but I just don't get much from him. Nice voice for sure but it wasn't a dynamic song to wow or anything, he was just there even though it was sung competently.)

AYA - 9.5/10 (wow. Little Mix are one of my fave musical acts, so I'm always harsh on acts who cover them, but I cannot fault that. Their harmonies are stunning and vocally they are individually incredible. By far my favouries of the night.)

Vlado - 6.5/10 (better than I expected for sure but nothing special. I'm just not convinced by acts like him who get through mostly on looks. He's not completely untalented but I'm not a huge fan at all, his voice is a bit eh and not my thing.)

Brentwood - 7/10 (I have a soft spot for these two, I do agree it wasn't the best song choice but they did the best they could with it. I just love the way their voices mesh together and I hope they survive this vote and do something more them that blows us away next week.)

Davey - 6.5/10 (as above, not my thing really at all. I can't fault his voice technically but I'm never a fan of these gravelly voices)

Melissa - 8.5/10 (flawless vocals and credit to Adam, I think it was a genius choice of song as something different but not too far out of her comfort zone. I do feel if she wins though she'll be Marlisa pt II though I just don't see her being a massive recording star and reeling off hits regardless of her ridic talent.)


I'd choose Vlado, Isaiah, Time and Place and Timmy to leave, I think that will probably be more or less the reality too except Vlado will clearly go nowhere, I can't call out of the other two but I'd prefer Maddie to stay. I don't like this twist though, it's really unfair as theoretically someone could be say 6th but still go home just because two others in their category are higher than them. It feels like too much too soon and like they are rushing it, if they blew a budget to get big name judges, why not try a bit harder with the season? This twist is gonna end up going wrong and binning amazing talent because of one mistake, before they have a chance to prove themselves. The acts have only performed twice (or once in the case of TAP) because they've cut down the competition so much... They keep prefacing this as being "auditions for Australia" so I'm hoping the production budget is a bit higher for the top 8 and the "proper" live shows? :/ It did feel quite basic and it's making the series feel a lot more muted.

Iggy looked completely uninterested throughout the show.

Luke decided to move to Los Angeles, therefore could no longer host the show.

The OZ show has completely lost the plot. Which is a shame.
The stage production is horrendous. The host is crap and Iggy can hardly articulate a sentence.

The first live show with one act from each category leaving is completely bonkers. Rather than competing across the categories you end up competing within each category which goes against what the show is all about. It's not the Voice mate!

Basically Adam's category is robbed. I have no doubt based on YT views and FB likes that he has the top 3 alongside Aya and Vlado and yet he has to lose Natalie over other acts who are in the bottom 3 in terms of total votes. What an utter mess.

That was an utter mess I agree. I don't think Adam would have the whole top 3, but I'd bet Natalie was no lower than 5th or 6th and it's unfair that she had to go over someone who may have been 11th just becaue someone else in their category was 12th. As I said, it feels rushed and mars the whole series, you don't get a feel for most of the acts. I'm not too fussed about Time & Place or Timmy going, they'd have been early week fodder anyway in a normal series, but Natalie and Maddie had so much potential :/

If they really had to do a quadruple elimination, I'd rather they just did it with the bottom 4. If someone lost their hwole category in week 1 (unlikely I know) so be it, it seems farcical to bin someone like Natalie who must have been high ish in the vote. Of course we don't know it may have been a total shock and she was like 10th but I doubt it. It seems so odd they've pushed the boat out judge wise but they're really rushing the series and ruining it.

I think it's ashame that the show lost Timmy and Maddison as they had potential to get better.

Time And Place ruined a song that I really like so I'm glad they went.

Natalie was okay but I've seen it all before with them type of acts on singing shows.

To be honest if it was upto me it would've been Davey (I strongly dislike Rock acts that are clearly just aiming towards one demographic) Time And Place, and Vlado (I completely forgot about the Bieber wannabe) and the Under 22's I'll need to check to see if Amalia's performance is up.

This one act each category-elimination isn't new. We had this in Germany in our third and last season in 2012. They did this in the first two liveshows so we had four lives in total.

So no suprise why X Factor is "rested" since that.

I think this will be the end of the X factor Australia too. They have already cut the budget significantly this year and with this elimination farce I can't see the series returning. For that reason I have never watched the Voice beyond the blinds as the elimination format sucks.

We did it in X Factor UK in 2011 too, but the judges chose and there were 4 each then so it just cut 16 to 12 which wasn't so bad. I definitely think it will be the last series which is a shame as when it's on, X Factor Australia trounces any other version but the past two seasons have been off imo. Last year was because of the pretty crap top 12 tbh, but this year is because of the rushed format. The talent field was incredible so it's a shame that it had to be this series that's ruined.

I liked that too. I was surprised that they did that only one season. The Good thing was that there were no public vote and the decisions were based on the judges.

I thought that last year had some strong talent, Louise and Jess & Matt being the prime examples.

What hurt last year was acts like Mahalia and Big T beating some of the other talented acts in the lineup which ruins the whole point of watching the performances as you know that the public will vote for the "likable" ones or if they don't like the style of Music of a more talented act they will spite vote for the weaker acts which has definitely happened this year already in the Underdog category as no way was Beatz and Vlado stronger than Maddison.

X Factor Australia 2012 and 2015 winners Samantha Jade & Cyrus are set to release a duo together next week.

"Hurt Anymore" is up to pre-order on iTunes Russia and should be up to pre-order soon in the rest of the world.

The song is set to be released on november 4.

I haven't listened to the sing-off yet but the right result happened based on the night, they took the comfort blanket of the song choice away from them and it showcased how weak they were.

Imo it was a terrible night, Amalia was the only one that was any good at all, and again they gave her alot of help with staging that nobody else was getting on the night, but credit where credit is due she was the best on the night, and when she's alot older she will probably do okay for herself.

Brentwood need a better song choice next week, they're actually the most ready for the lives so the show shouldn't be mistreating them as it's very easy for the public to turn on that type of act.

And Isaiah has won as his bland as they come.

This years season is a disaster and flop

It makes the UK series look good in comparison this year.
