Iggy is awful. Her reason for sending Chynna home was ridiculous. She's clearly in it for the pay cheque and isn't interested at all.

Definitely! It seemed somewhat bitter and petty, as if to say "I'll keep them because I can pretend they are my act still". The Beatz fans are all like "well it came to the public vote, can't be fairer than that" which is I suppose true but it's a bit of a kick in the face for Chynna to be eliminated just because Iggy threw her toys out of the pram losing all her acts.

Awful contestants, awful host, awful production and awful twists. The week 1 twist was utterly pointless, and the week 3 double elimination following it makes me wonder why they didn't just have each category be two acts instead of three rather than letting go of so many acts in the first few weeks. It doesn't help that some of the best acts (Natalie, Brentwood and now Chynna) were among those, while terrible vocalists like Vlado and karaoke singers like Davey are still in.

This is genuinely the first year in a long time where I consider the UK show superior to the Australian one, and that's saying something considering how dire the UK show has become.”

Completely agree, it was just so right for Samantha, Dami and Marlisa's series, I'd be perched every week so excited for the show and I'd be so invested. The judges dynamic was perfect, they had great song choices and more importantly a huge talent pool. Of course there were the likes of Jason, What About Tonight, Brothers3 and worst of all Jai in those series, but there's always gonna be one or two I don't like. This year I only cared about Natalie, AYA and Chynna (maybe Brentwood) and they're all gone... I don't mind Amalia or Isaiah but they're nothing exciitng for me to keep watching. I think i'll just keep up by watching those two on youtube and seeing what happens by reading the wiki on a monday for results.

The half arsed nature of absolutely every aspect of the show is just so odd given they got two new judges who are fairly big names for a show like this! Perhaps they blew the budget and thought the names alone would pull in names, but they aren't quite *that* big.

Casting Adam and especially Iggy is a mistake. I like Adam as an artist and he can really be constructive but his "American sass" thing doesn't blend well with the show (and I liked Kelly on XF UK; he's better off in a US XF, which doesn't exist), and Iggy clearly doesn't care.

Was there a reason why the lives are short? For example, UK was short last year because of cricket or something. Really short Live Shows is why The Voice doesn't launch starts. Peculiar decision-making considering that Australia is one of the countries that take their reality shows seriously (see: MasterChef, Top Model,...)

There were rumours that they talked about to "rested" XF after last years season. So I think this season is a compromise. Another reason could be that this short season was the only possibility to have Iggy and Adam on the panel.

What a mistake by the producers. I can't see it come back next year with those ratings.

I actually thought that series 7 was okay away from Mahalia and Big T making it ridiculously far.

Yeah I think it's to do with them being bigger names with current careers abroad, so they weren't willing to commit to the regular length of series. Which is stupid really, I'd rather have NatBass for example back in favour of two big names who don't really give a shit about the show and have made it so the series is rushed. They truthfully just aren't really good enough to have ****ed up the series lmao.

Taking one for the team here: this week's semifinal has nice song choices but I can't find the talent.

Davey reminds me of Andrew Wishart from 4 years ago. Bad running order but he's safe.
Vlado is pigeonholed into "the singing voice in EDM songs". A longer season would make him more viable commercially because it's all dodgy now.
Amalia did well with her first song but her second song was boring.
Isaiah managed to make both Kanye and Sam Cooke boring. Good voice but he stands out as the most mediocre of a mediocre bunch.
Beatz get the last slot for both halves of the show. I'd think they're going to die but given how few the viewers are, they could make it to the final. They're decent though.

Isaiah and Davey safe. The others can fight it out for all I care, although I'd honestly rather watch a Vlado/Amalia/Beatz final.

P.S. Is there anyone here based in Australia? I want to see their Spotify stream counts.

I can access the stream counts. I'll give you an update in a couple of days which will allow for this week's songs to receive a decent amount of streams.

The reason for the short season is quite simple.

Last year's ratings were (at the time) the worst ever. With the exception of the finale, every live show rated lower than the previous one.

People say they want more live shows, but the statistics show otherwise. They actually do worse than any other part of the show.

Of course, this year the ratings are even worse.

I thought last years season went ok and it was not that bad away from Big T and Miss Minogues awful attittude. They were 5 times on Nr. 1 in the ratings. It was better as the season in 2014.

But true, this season is the worst one ever on 7. S no wonder if this would be the last one before it gets rested. To have Iggy and Adam on the panel was the biggest mistake they made. Bring back James would be a better idea.

My rankings of the performances

1. Davey Woder - Billie Jean - He actually wasn't karaoke for a change
2. Amalia Foy - Faded - A lovely vocal, although she is the best vocalist of the top 5 on a technical level anyway so I'm not surprised at this
3. Amalia Foy - Brave
4. Beatz - Walk This Way
5. Beatz - Move
6. Davey Woder - Fortunate Son
7. Vlado - Perfect Strangers
8. Vlado - I Wanna Dance With Somebody
9. Isaiah Firebrace - FourFiveSeconds
10. Isaiah Firebrace - A Change Is Gonna Come

I know that I'm being harsh on Isaiah, but his so bland that even Vlado has become more enjoyable to watch for me.

Vlado and Beatz are Bottom 2. It will be a 4-act final

Adam, Iggy, and Guy vote Vlado. This is the semi-final; you know the drill.

The series seemed so rush, didn't notice that it started, the premiere didn' t create much buzz despite the "big" signing and it ended like nothing happened, only the Iggy diva issue, bad live shows format, bad act selection, horrible song choices. Oh, we might seen the last of XF Australia.

Because Davey does the ultimate sin of them all.... he sings Rock Music.

An article on the current state of the show, details about why it has a shortened season are about half way through.

I love that both XF and DWTS (another name for Strictly) are on their way out while a show about houses is getting close to 2 million viewers

Because Davey looks like a meth head straight out of Woop Woop. Isaiah fits the profile of a perfect X Factor winner. Young somewhat talented, ok singer with zero personality, plus being half indigenous with a great back sob story. Perfect.

I’ll be a little sad if it is axed, mainly because Samantha Jade is one of my favourite winners of this type of show. I genuinely think the Australian show was the best version of the ones I’ve seen. But this series has been dire. I knew Iggy wouldn’t be very good, but she’s worse than I ever imagined. Perhaps Australia is suffering from music talent show fatigue in the same way that France and Germany did.
