The UK X Factor could take some cues from these song choices! Those are the kinds of songs that should be sung as often as possible on X Factor live shows.

They're deluded if they think the bad judging panel alone is the reason for XF AU's utter failure this year. Sure, it made a significant contribution, but there are even more significant factors at play here:

1) Talent show fatigue. A country with a relatively small population (compared to say the US or even the UK) like Australia suffers from this sooner than countries with a large population. After years of Australian Idol and The X Factor, the novelty of talent shows has been on the decline for a while now. This is evident in the talent, which was overall weaker this year than any other year.

2) The rushed format. What did they do in order to combat the show's fatigue? They decided to change things up, which always seems to be hailed as some sort of end-all "solution" to the problem. Unfortunately, the producers seemed to be grossly out of touch with what viewers enjoyed about series 4-7 of the show and changed all the wrong things. Shortening the series, the pointless twists, the underdogs category - they didn't fix what was broken and broke what was functioning perfectly fine, just for good measure.

All in all, I'm not surprised they decided to call it quits. Hell, I'll even go ahead and say it's the right decision at this point. Simon Cowell, take notes please.

It had to be a bad year when I've actually preferred the UK version this year and that's terrible aswell.

Although Iggy was awful, I didn't think Adam was particularly good either. Sad the show won't be coming back, but at least the network knows when to quit. Samantha Jade's series will remain one of my favourites from any TV talent show.

I'm still not sure about Adam Lambert as a judge. Maybe it's because I liked Blunt as a judge.
