That is so sad - I really have my fingers crossed for Jo Clifton to have a really good partner this year, she absolutely deserves one.

I totally agree. We've really been deprived of seeing Joanne's full potential thus far (except for the pro routines). Not only does she need a partner this year - she needs a good one!

What's weird? That Jo has a water phobia (it's actually quite common) or that someone wants her to have a good celeb partner this year?

Nice to see you back on here, I just don't get how people can be scared of water that's all. So are you going to still be backing anton this year like me Terry?

the water phobia, I don't find it weird that people want her to get a good partner, I'm not against other people wanting her to get someone good eventhough I cant stand her

Well Joanne has now conquered her fear of water and her new(ish) boyfriend is apparently an ex GB swimmer who is now teaching her to swim.

Phobias like this often come from some childhood incident.

This is a great clip from a Series Kate Silverton appeared in.

She overcame a fear of water an became an expert at diving underwater.

I too have a water phobia. I think it started when I was pushed in the swimming pool when I was about five. However, I can have a shower as long as the water isn't going over my face.

I also have a bird phobia - all that fluttering!

Don't worry! The BBFC have banned them anyway. It's a con, apparently.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Moving water is quite scary, especially when its coming fast and straight at you John, trust me I've been there.

Anton is a superb specimen in every respect John, like a good wine he is improving with every series that goes by, he is also super fit and always raring to go.

Good job in the "Shut up and dance" group dance, they used glitter rather than water in the Flashdance bit then.

Adam Peaty who has won a gold and silver for Team GB in Rio (and broke the WR twice) used to have a phobia of water too! Incredible really when you think he now has a profession in it.

"Superb" is a great word to describe Antons dancing talents John, if anyone could walk on water it would be Anton.

Being pushed in a swimming pool when you are young can be very traumatic I agree, and can lead onto a water phobia quit easily.

I used to have a pussy stroking phobia it would make me sneeze every time, I have to wear a nose clip when I go near cats now.

Well Joanne has been pro-active and done something about it.

Got herself a new boyfriend.

I think people should overcome their fears.

Not afraid of the double entendre though Terry.

I have a fear of many things that I have not managed to overcome yet, many people are like me.

I actually enthusiastically jumped in not realising it was the deep end! I still remember the blue water enveloping me as I sunk and then being pulled out by the lifeguard (whilst my mother was nearly having hysterics). So I don't swim. It doesn't stop me from going on cruises though and so I guess not a phobia.

The real debilitating phobia I have had most of my life is of blood/injury and illness (to others not me) although I have had to deal with that in recent years.
