Can anybody please tell me why my mobile picks up BT broadband wifi (from next door or wherever) using my own home login and my tablet doesn't sitting in the same chair in the same room. It's driving me bonkers

Which bit of it is driving you bonkers? Try deleting next door's BT wi-fi from your phone's list of known connections.

The phone connects to BT wifi using my home log in but the tablet won't. There isn't any Wi-Fi in the flat in sitting in and this happens every time i am over there . I'm happy with the phone but not the tablet.

Can the tablet connect to your own BT Openzone wi-fi when at home?

Maybe the problematic wifi is operating on 5ghz/802.11n only and your tablet doesn't support it? Post some details about the connection and your devices.

The signal varies from 54Mpbs and 72 as it jumps out. It doesn't last long. I get the feeling it is a signal reception problem. It is a binatone 844. The phone is a Samsung j5

You have a cheap tablet and a good quality phone. I suspect the tablet has a poor wifi antenna inside.

Yep that's what I suspected.

Depending on the proximity of the room you're in to the neighbour's router, you could use something like a Belkin N300 range extender (£15) to relay the signal if there's socket nearby?

Sorry it's took a long time to respond. This is useful to know because my girlfriend doesn't have a computer or WiFi - just her mobile - and I could get her a tablet if it is possible to use my BT login in her flat.
