This is what the Daleks would have looked like if the TV Movie wasn't made, but a TV Series of the show back in the 90's.

Here is a clearer shot if the image:

Seeing that, I'm glad things happened as they did, and that the daleks were only seen again in 2005 and brought back by someone who had respect for the design.

I can understand why in the 90's, they would have thought it a good idea to update them, but they are so iconic that I'm glad the ultimately stayed the same, and that someone like me, starting in 2005, got to be introduced to them in their natural, long standing form (albeit a lot less rickety looking than they look in classic who).

But hey, at least Moffat can be happy now that there is proof of a Dalek design that proves that his 'victory of the Daleks' design wasn't the absolute worst in who history (though probably still the worst that actually made it to broadcast)

That's actually really cool looking, even if it does have the crazy 90's written all over it. The Daleks have never been the most engaging enemy for me anyway (even though the potential is there), and New Who has always had a tendency to overuse them and rarely making them scary. Wouldn't have minded at all is something like this had come up.
