So I happened upon this list via another thread and when I analysed, well I did laugh OR, bit of a protest going on here at some of the inclusions (particularly the number one which I hail as one of the greatest songs of the eighties). all such things to be discussed heron in. But first, what was Blender magazine? From Wikipedia...
I think generally we take a lot of these lists with a pinch of salt, but they do make for some contentious discussion!
Here's the list of songs first of all...
Now if the list were upside down and My Heart Will Go On was voted worst, I'd be happy with that! But there are songs here that I'm not familiar with at all, Mesmerize - Ja Rule featuring Ashanti, Follow Me - Uncle Kracker and Five For Fighting - Superman to name but three.
But we can see it's an American list and so us Brits aren't going to know some of the songs - still, a fair reason to explore them. By comparison, everyhit.com have a list of 100 here...

this is where 5,6,7,8 and Mr. Blobby come in, both of which I would expect to see in any definitive list.
The other thing I'm sure people will pick up on is inclusions like The Sound Of Silence, like, a classic? What is there to hate about that song (even if it was The Dickies cover!). And in keeping, Breakfast At Tiffany's, I happen to think that this is one great polished pop song... ah but that's just me.
What are your likes and dislikes from this motley crue of supposedly rubbish songs please!

“Blender was an American music magazine that billed itself as "the ultimate guide to music and more". It was also known for sometimes steamy pictorials of celebrities. It compiled lists of albums, artists, and songs, including both "best of" and "worst of" lists. In each issue, there was a review of an artist's entire discography, with each album being analyzed in turn.
Owner Alpha Media Group closed Blender magazine March 26, 2009, going to an online-only format in a move that eliminated 30 jobs and reduced the company's portfolio of titles to Maxim alone. Blender's final print issue was the April 2009 issue. Subscribers to the magazine were sent issues of Maxim magazine to make up for the unsent Blender issues.”
