I was thinking the other day what with the return of Sharon, the room auctions only (arenas have been scrapped entirely) and the logo (which reminds me of the first few series) It seems that they are trying to go back to the "early days" of the X factor, and I was thinking would people like to see the results on a Saturday night again instead of waiting 24 hours for the results on Sunday? (Like Series 1 - 5)

It might help to freshen up the show in that it wouldn't dominate for over an hour on both Saturday and Sunday, thus freeing up Sunday evenings for other things?

For example, say this is week one of the live shows with 12 contestants.

7:00pm The X Factor Live
9:10pm Entertainment (During Nov this will be I'm a celeb)
10:10pm The X Factor Live Results
10:55pm ITV News

Also the results could be shortened to 45 minutes as I think It feels drawn out as a 1 hour show. It might help to make The X Factor on a Saturday night feel more of an event again.

Thoughts?

I like it spread over 2 days, I know many people don't but I also like the fact they have it on for an hour and are able to squeeze two guests in each week.

Though I can't ever see them reverting back to Saturdays, they are able to bring in more advertising revenue thanks to it being over two days and I am pretty sure the Sunday results shows tend to rate better than the Saturday shows.

I would rather they air the entire show on Sunday, or performances on Sunday and results on Monday night at 8/9

As cruel as it sounds I like the idea of an act being in the contest and then eliminated on the same night.
