For the reasons in the post I quoted, I don't think it's right that so many just see each other as meat, rather than precious individuals who are to be loved, nurtured and cherished.

There have always been highly promiscuous men and women throughout history, and for some with an incredible libido and certain world view probably there's no problem, but now it's gone mainstream in the western world.

I was promiscuous and unfaithful due to self-esteem issues when I was younger. It was quite self-destructive really and I lost the love of my life (so far) because of it. Not because she found out, but because of the effect it had on me. Now that's just me, but at the same time I highly doubt I'm alone.

Now we have a situation where barely pubescent boys and girls think sending naked selfies is the norm and get shamed for not joining in. Where anal is a norm rather than a kink or a contraceptive workaround, and if you don't do it you're 'square'. Where sex tourism is common and most stag parties at least visit brothels abroad and then bring STIs back to unsuspecting partners, leading to a world where gonorrhea (sp?) has mutated and is now becoming untreatable with the antibiotics we have. A world where I can't be friendly to a lady on a night out without her thinking I'm angling for sex. Lots of other reasons too.

Yes, of course they are, the posts about Laura don't say they're not. The point is the threads are about Laura (Who is a Slut, by the way) and not about Marco or Jackson.

This was my personal experience. I'm not saying it is for everybody, but it was for me, and I'm certain it is for others too (from being friends with people it affected in the same way). Some of my friends still carry on, often risking their relationships and/or marriages. I feel sorry for them, but they seem to be enjoying themselves (some of them, one of them felt so bad after a drunken fling he too almost lost the girl he loved through the shame of it, but luckily has worked out his problems, has long been faithful, and now has a bouncing girl of four or five to show for his new-found dedication)


I agree. 'Slut' is a negative word but then so is 'negative', 'bad', 'bully'...the list is almost infinite. As long as there's no intended malice the word is useful and correct imo.

It's women in the Big Brother crowds and the female majority who vote, who are the ones who mostly boo and shame promiscuous women. It's that old thing, where certain women hate on the actions of other women, while turning the blind eye to virile men that behave the same.

So unless people want to accuse the majority who boo and shame these women, who are also women themselves, as being sexist, let's leave the sexist arguments out of this.

The reason females are held to a higher standard is because they carry the weight of responsibility in pregnancy.

Doesn't matter how much people as whole want to try and delude themselves and others out of selfish reasons and lack of discipline to the point they're almost animals driven by primal instinct and pleasure... that sex isn't a big deal, it's my body i can do what i want, everyone does it, etc, etc, etc...

The fact remains sex is mainly a function of bringing life into the world and child birth is one of the most important responsibilities of humankind. Fairly or unfairly women got the majority share of responsibility in this as they carry child within and the child is born through them.

It's not all about the selfish individual and their need for pleasure. This act brings life into the world. Using "protection" only goes so far until it doesn't work that one time.

The male should have just as much responsibility post birth and looking at it from that perspective but it's just not the case with a lot of men. They can easily cut and run and leave any accountability and responsibility they have whereas a woman simply doesn't have that same path available to them. No matter what she chooses it's going to be a difficult path.

It's one of the main problems with the world today and so many children are forced into this world through the selfish act of others and they then are brought into environments and situations that aren't beneficial to them and they don't grow up stable and then everyone turns around and blames the kids as they grow and question how this all happened. Ummm. It's easy to see why the world is the way it is, why humanity is the way it is.

So... yeah. It's not all about the inidvidual and their animalistic desires to have sex. Unfortunately and perhaps unfairly a lot of men take advantage of this and the burden falls more on women to take the higher ground of responsibility and discipline. Find men who are not like that and wait for the right time to have sex when the chance to bring a child into the world is a stable and right timing choice. Just because some irresponsible and immature males do it doesn't mean everyone else should be doing. These guys need someone else willing to do it with them in the first place. So, by that logic if female took a stand then the males would have no choice but to follow and so the women do have a lot of power and influence in the matter, unless the male takes things by force and there remains no choice. I mean really, there's so much power females have in these matters that a lot of women aren't even aware of and don't realize/understand. They could control and influence the standards of where the future goes. Instead they simply allow these immature, irresponsible men dictate and control the future because they're "cute" or have confidence, or whatever the reason.

Everyone's just going to continue selfishly f*cking their way through the world anyway, doesn't matter what i say...and the world/humanity will continue it's doomed path to devolution and destruction.

If it was the case that you were a slut because you shagged about all over the shop and had a baby with no sign of the father being on the scene, surely that would mean that to be a slut, you also had to be a mother.
While it is true that I have heard of some mothers being called sluts, it is far, far more often that you hear of childless women being called sluts.

I wouldn't take the chance of bringing a life into this doomed humanity, such a fate forced upon an innocent being in exchange for mere selfish physical pleasure. I think not.

Instead of banging each other, people should be working on ways to improve humanity, society and the earth for a better future. That would require an iota of selflessless, however and so it's asking a lot of humanity i know.

Side note: Even though self improvement focuses on self it is actually selfless as it deals with a lot of sacrifice. Just the simple act of self improvement can go a long way toward this big picture goal in the sense of everything being connected in a way. If one person has dedicated themselves to self improvement... the many actions throughout this person's journey can have an impact through causality and it's effect can be felt in the world as such. Doesn't really take some epic event in that regard. If that one becomes two, and two becomes three... well, humanity's doomed path might actually take a hopeful turn at some point in time.
