Yeah, I like this. Miles better than All For One. Hopefully this will be more representative of the album.
Now this is "proper" Stone Roses. I liked All For One but it did have a throwaway quality to it, whereas this is classic Stone Roses which you could feel yourself loving for years to come.
Had it on repeat straightaway shaking my head in disbelief, the last 22 years never happened - classic, effortless Roses 
The swagger, funk and rhythm section of Fools Gold, dreamy, hypnotic vocals from Ian, John on fine form. Very much what we expected the second album to sound like!
It's also like the sunnier, chilled equivalent of Breaking Into Heaven, can imagine them playing them back to back next week and hope they do!
Sad to have to order it online though rather than picking up a copy in Our Price

I can't get this song out of my head! Critics have said we're seeing the new stuff through rose-tinted glasses (no pun intended) but this song overrides a lot of their old stuff for me (granted not most of the first album proper, but a lot of the B-sides and later singles, all of which I've treasured for over 25+ years).
I think it's an amazing song
I tried to listen to The Second Coming last night (managed about a third) - which I've always regarded as half a great album. This song makes it sound so dated! If only John had been less full of coke, the band more united, and the production anywhere near this!
It completely bridges the gap between the first album, the subsequent couple of singles, and then the second album for me, I'm over the moon

Oh and the vinyl's all gone now - first single I've ever preordered, and the first record I think I've bought more than once, apart from three versions of the debut (vinyl, limited edition with Fools Gold and Elephant Stone included, and the remastered masterpiece)

Alas as a poor student I didn't buy the imported Fools Gold US gold vinyl import at the record fair I skipped school for, for a fiver, and bought something else instead. I already had the 12" after all, but i dread to think what that limited edition gold vinyl is worth now
