Hello

I have two 1100s Humax boxes connected to the net using wifi. My problem is that when I try to change to a new Ethernet connection using the settings menu the software only finds the current wifi connection. I'm using power line adaptors with HDMI splitters and I also have now tv boxes connected by Ethernet which work ok connected to the power line adaptors and splitter.

Many thanks for looking.

Do the power line adapters have power saving features?

Only just seen this.

Not entirely sure what the relevance of the HDMI splitter is but what is this splitter you have with the powerline adapters? Would it be something that takes one RJ45 plug and splits it into two RJ45 sockets some what similar to this?

If so that will be the cause of the problem. You cannot connect two ethernet network devices to a single ethernet network connection using a simple splitter. Usually what happens is neither device works.

There are similar devices that are called port doublers which use the fact that only two of the four pairs in an ethernet cable are used. So they combine two separate connections one end and split them out again that the other end. But they cannot be used with powerline adapters, only on a direct cable connection between the two ends.

If you want to connect two devices to one powerline adapter you either need a simple networlk switch such as

or a powerline adapter with the switch built in, ie it has multiple RJ45 ethernet ports on it, such as
