Nothing really new about this announcement. They used to do broadband and Nowtv bundles until very recently anyway.

Can you get this new Freeview equipped box anywhere yet? No mention on the Now TV website that I can see, and nothing on Amazon. Haven't checked any high street stores.

So when will they be available to buy? Its early July now but they don't seem to be on sale anywhere yet.

I watch nbcsn via my apple tv at 60Hz and there no issues with judder,strange how the now tv box has issues.

That is because NBCSN broadcasts at 60Hz and the Apple TV is displaying at 60Hz, Sky broadcasts at 50Hz so when its transferred to the Now TV box which only outputs at 60Hz judder is introduced.
The Sky Sports streams look great watching the Now TV Windows app via my HTPC which is connected to my TV but I have the PC set to output at 50Hz.
A 50Hz option on the new box is finally a great introduction from Sky but then they've regressed by only giving it a 720P resolution.

The box will work over Ethernet or wifi with any half-decent router and broadband service. Bear in mind you'll need a terrestrial aerial to receive the FTA channels via the box though.

Sky/Now TV heavily subsidise the cost of their boxes in the hope you will subscribe to their service.
Also, they restrict which additional channels you can add from the Roku Channel Store.

Can any of the people who've posted that they have the new box answer a couple of questions please?
Are the entertainment and sport live channels in HD?
How are the freeview channels? I.E. are there any issues as Freeview channels are interlaced but this box only outputs from what I've read 720P so is the deinterlacing up to the job?
And can you confirm it does output a 50Hz signal?
If these answers are positive I may well invest in one of these and not rely on my HTPC for Now TV and Freeview

It says;
So you can make recordings then and watch them later, is that from freeview?
It also says under setup;
So it will cost more than £39.99 with adding a pass as it does not seem to come with one
Does the nowtv aerial socket have in/out to passthrough the aerial signal to a tv or recorder as well?

Yeah now it's on shelves we can talk about its current features
Same old now, sd watching live, catch up slightly better quality 720 (and no ads)
Box outputs 1080p and yes 50Hz
No problems with freeview & freebie hd for me

No recording only live pause, that sounds like marketing talk for catch up
Pass will cost extra for now content freeview, I player, itvplayer, my5 will work without
No pass through you'll need to split aerial before box

Thanks, its probably not worth the upgrade for me then, I might as well keep my current setup and save the 40 quid towards some passes in the future.
I kinda hoped their new flagship device might have the live channels in HD, and the Freeview facility would've freed up a USB port on my PC, but never mind.
As an aside I wonder why the newest Apple TV gets all their live channels in HD but not much else does?
