With a different ref, Mr Skyrtyl would have obliged for me there

This ref's poor, not just on the pen decision. Slovakia's yellow wasn't a foul, Taylor should've at least have had a yellow and some soft free kicks being given to Wales.

Good early call. I can see more than one red in this game. The mad tackles/challenges are flying in already.

Skrtel probably got away with it due to Williams being too far away from the ball to get it in the first place.

Skrtel defending as he usually does, with no actual idea of how to defend, and just being a thug.

Definitely a red card.
Watch him a lot, do you? He's not been great this season but he does know how to defend.

He's not a thug.

Is there a post-match review system for this competition to adjudicate on incidents the officials have missed (or ignored)?

Skrtel is a thug, he uses his elbows a lot.

he's taken williams out with his elbow though... where the ball was becomes irrelevant.

He can play a bit dirty but he's hardly a thug. He looks scarier than he actually is. He does whatever he can to stop his opponent, often putting his body on the line or doing last-ditch tackles. His main thing is shirt pulling.

But to say he doesn't know how to defend and is a thug is a bit off.

I think Wales could be a tricky game for England.

Agreed.

Definite pen, and how that so called line official missed that is baffling.

Red card and pen missed, plus as mentioned above the Slovakia yellow was nothing of the sort.

This will be a great score to take into the half-time break for Wales.

Good half from Wales. An early scare but aside from that they've been in full control.

Indeed, they've been sharper all over the pitch and the Slovakians haven't been able to deal with their high tempo, pressing game.

They did get into the match a bit more at the end of that first half but they couldn't play the ball through the eye of the needle of the mass Welsh defence.

Referee and his assistants were diabolical in that first half.

What would the Welsh team be like if they did not have Gareth Bale

Deserved that half time score.

Slovakia will come out in the second half, hope the Welsh have the legs for it.
