Awful defending from Wales

And there we have it. Duris the clunker substituted and Duda immediately equalises.

Big period for Wales to get through now.

And they might have to get through it without Ashley Williams.

No more goals now please.

Good run down the right on the goal, and I know Robbie Savage was praising the way he let it run across his body, but having done that I really do think someone could have got a block on it. It rolled a long way across the box at not much speed.

At least 1 goal per game scored so far. Long may that continue.

Sorry but again Ashley Williams was at least partly to blame for that goal , he was totally ineffective just then .... this .could be a godsend if he goes off tbh .James Collins is decent enough . I just find it bizarre that everyone says that he'd walk into the England team.

And for the first time in the match Slovakia have 11 footballers on the pitch as opposed to 10 + Duris. Wales really up against it, time for Bale to do something as he has been more or less anonymous aside from the free kick/goal.

Wales have lost control, hard work alone isn't enough.

Indeed, very slow on the turn.

Skrtel is not exactly an angel is he, come on even you must admit that?
His defending style is to pull shirts, and to generally get away with as much fouling as possible without the referee seeing him doing so, that is not how to defend as I know the word to mean.”

I never said he's an angel, in fact if you read my posts I have said he can be a bit dirty. Read Sloth's post. He puts it better than I can.

I wonder how those same fans view Fellaini or Costa...”

What I object to is what you said, the way you said it.

That isn't his defending style, it can be a part of his game, if he feels he can get an advantage from it if he has to. But there's more to him than that. He's a physical defender who puts everything he can into defending. He puts his body on the line, and will just do whatever he needs to do to keep his opponent from scoring.

He knows how to defend because he's been doing it for years, even if he's had a poor season and isn't as good as he once was. He can be prone to errors or fouls because of his tackling, but that's it. The way you describe him is just wrong. I've asked you a few times now what you've based your opinion on, how much you've actually seen him. If you watch him as much as a Liverpool fan would you'd see there's a lot more to him than pulling shirts.

The point is, he's not a thug, and he DOES know how to defend.
