The first half performance was decent, the second half performance absolutely was not.

Roy went defensive to try and hold on to a 1-0 win. That tactic never works. I don't know how these managers never learn.

They'll have to come bottom (probably) so I'd still say that's unlikely.

I thought we were brilliant tonight, the most impressive of the eight sides to have played. We have only won three matches in ten years of tournaments and that was better than any of those. It was only a defensive lapse that cost us, Milner at fault twice.

Only good for 70 minutes and they faded.

It doesn't matter if England play 'well', they don't do enough at tournament level.

Had we only managed 1 or 2 shots on goal.. then you start to ask questions of the manager. But we were falling over ourselves to score.

Russia clearly came out in the 2nd half thinking they were still in it and played better. Perhaps Roy could have made changes but we were still getting chances to score. The game should have been an easy win for us.. and that's not Roy's fault IMHO.”

It's his fault that the top scorer in the Premier League didn't get a go off the bench after about 55 minutes when it became apparent Kane and Sterling weren't doing much.

He didn't go all out attack. You were crying your eyes out all game for Vardy to come on and now you're saying they went all out attack?

Milner at fault at both ends of the pitch. So much for experience.

Its obvious Roy see's Vardy as a Kevin Phillips and Kane as a Lineker. And he would be right.

The one thing that let England down was in the opposition box, we just should have converted at least 1 or 2 of the chances we had. I'm not saying they were clear cut, but had we put just one more away, it would have made a huge difference. Sterling, Rooney and Lallana should have/could have done better.

At least it's a point, we aren't out yet.

Is it possible that we wont qualify from the group

Yeah I thought it would be a good sub but he wasn't great was he?

Sorry all you English manager fans, but Hodgson is a terrible manager!!! Why take off Rooney and not Kane who was terrible? Or Lallana? Why not bring Vardy? Wtf?

I think they need to calm down about the England performance.

Russia were dreadful.

Sterling still has the same flaws in his game he had, 2 years ago.

We didnt score until the 74th minute and had defended expertly until the moment Milner came on. The Rooney for Wilshere substitution worked brilliantly. I would have brought Vardy on for Kane at some point though.

Don't expect Chris Coleman to be as stupid as the Russian manager and have no one within 20 yards of Rooney to let him just ping it about.

Rooney the amazing midfielder claim will have to go on hold until there is a competent tactician against him when he is actually marked.

Stan Collymore posted some video footage of the post match trouble:

Says a large group of Russian fans stormed the area the England fans were in. Some in balaclavas.

He's not a terrible manager, just too conservative.

He didn't put enough subs on, with only 2 subs one at 78th min and another at 87th. It was far too few and too late. Fresh legs to create more chances, and another for defence.

They need to calm down with the praise but a load of the people here need to calm down with the OTT criticism too.

Played well, but got done with a sucker punch. Getting out of the group will not be a problem.
