Asda red wine costing just £4.37 takes top spot in Decanter World Wine Awards

So not only cheap but very good?

Quote:
“It doesn't have to cost a fortune to stock your cellar with red wines to impress your guests at summer barbecues this summer.

An Asda red wine priced at £4.37 has been named the best in the world in a blind tasting test with a panel of 240 experts at the world's largest and most influential wine competition.

La Moneda Reserva Malbec from Central Valley in Chile (2015) was awarded best in show in the best single-varietal red under £15 at this year's Decanter World Wine Awards, from 16,000 other entries.”

Where do you buy your wine generally; from an off-licence, supermarket, online?

Its the best Malbec thats priced at under £15 and normally it costs £5.75. Not quite what the headline implies!
I have had it in the past though and it is very good for the money - shall have to see if I can get some on rollback, though I expect the shelves to be cleared now everyone knows

I normally get mine from anywhere that is convenient and under £5.

I always look at the app on my phone though (it's called Vivino) - you just take a photo of the label with the app and it brings up reviews from other people and usually the reviews are right (I like red wine, but nothing too strong).

For Android phones here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/d...vivino.web.app

And here for the iPhone: https://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/vivi...414461255?mt=8

I get what's on offer from ASDA. Hardly ever pay over £4 for a bottle.

I don't know many people who regularly pay £15 for a bottle of wine, i'd imagine a huge percentage of wine sold in this country costs less than £5 never mind £15.
