The difference between Marco and Laura (why Laura's dumb)

Marco is a spoilt man-child who thinks that having tattoos is an acceptable substitute for a having a personality. BUT it doesn't matter. He's from a wealthy family (and might even have made a bit of money himself through modelling, though probably less than you'd imagine) and in the long-run he's going to be fine. He'll eventually grow up and daddy's money will ensure he has a decent life.

Laura is a brainless slut who apparently has no idea how the world works. The only reason to be on BB is to make money. You can do that by winning, or you can do that by using it as a springboard to a career. Marco (who doesn't need the money) is getting exposure for his modelling and BB will do him no harm at all.

But Laura is treating the opportunity like an ordinary night at a club. She could get off with a good-looking guy on any given Saturday night and no-one would care. But she's decided to do it on national tv.

If her long term plan is to marry a celebrity for the money, she's blown it. No self-respecting man will want to go anywhere near her. This is not how you become a WAG. Equally, there's no career here for her. No-one's watching BB and thinking, "yes, that's who I want working for me". She's generically attractive at best: she's not going to be launching a modelling career any time soon. (Except page 3 of the Sun, which pays peanuts, if it even exists any more.)

There was maybe an opportunity for her to improve her life. Instead she's shown herself to be a selfish, thoughtless, slut who is remarkably inexpert at snogging for someone who has apparently done so much of it.

And that's why she's just plain stupid. Short-sighted and clueless.

I agree.
Can't stand either of them sooner there out the better.

Yes, because it illustrates my point. Right or wrong, that is the world we live in. That is how she will be seen.

Hall pass or not, Marco is allegedly engaged and Laura knows it. Despite that, she's perfectly happy to get off with him.

Men and women are judged by different standards. Marco's behaviour will not harm him at all. Laura's will. She should have seen beyond her horniness and thought about how the opportunity of BB could help her make something of her life. (Admittedly a tough job. How many BB housemates have really used it as a springboard to success?)

Because there's little honour in snogging a man who's engaged. And even less honour in doing so in public.

And because that's the whole point of the show: to get people talking.

What on earth was the dozy sl** thinking slobbering and groaning like a dirty porn star over stickman Marco in a desperate attempt to stay in the house. What a sad desperate little wannabe. Another sh*t for brains thick bimbo who thinks to save themselves from eviction they only have to play act a relationship to stay in.

God i wish she had been evicted for that alone. Why do so many women behave like that when they are up for eviction? You'd think they would have learnt by now that that is just desperate behaviour and the only person they are fooling is themselves. The public have been there, done that and worn the flippin' t-shirt for heavens sake!

And everyone knows that BB voters are overwhelmingly female and they keep hot guys in and kick slutty girls out. Laura is utterly clueless.

But Marco and his fiancé have an open relationship; he was given a "free pass" while in the house apparently. Even if this wasn't the case why is Laura called the slut here; Marco is the one doing the cheating NOT Laura. And I'm not a fan of Laura by a long shot.

That is what she wanted us to believe. The only reason she did that was because she was up for eviction. She is not a dog on heat. Any normal human being can control their horniness. Her sad behaviour was a desperate attempt IMO to fool the public into thinking there was going to be more of that to come so keep her in.

Not a good move. I'd vote to see less of it.

Luisa Zissman whored it up on CBB and is now married (engaged?) to a wrinkled millionaire and is now a media personality.

Laura's tactic will work. Don't overestimate men. They are simple creatures.

I am annoyed when women behave so manipulative instead of using their brains to stay in the house. It is clear to me that she behaved in that way to fool the public. She instigated the whole thing by asking for a massage. She could have got her massage from one of the female but no she wanted it from a male and whether Marco is in a open relationship or not she showed herself up for being nothing more than someone willing to scrape the bottom of the barrel to get what she wants.

Marco's only been 'engaged' for a month! And he was with someone else until shortly before that.
As the Instagram photo in the other thread shows, they knew one another (at least well enough to have their photos taken together in a nightclub) sometime before BB.
This rat is smelling very strongly indeed...

I've actually been wanting to ask this question for a while now... Why are we not allowed to call sluts "sluts"? I call man-whores "man-whores", so why am I not allowed to call sluts "sluts"?

I honestly never understood the whole "Don't slut shame" thing -- it's like saying "Don't call a spade a spade"

If that's the life they chose to lead, unashamedly and proud, then fair enough, you do whatever makes you happy, but I'm going to comment on it, just like I'd comment on the price of petrol rising, or how bad a film was.

If that works for you then you go for it!

Some people prefer not to call people derogatory terms (and you presumably aren't using those terms in complimentary fashion ) - be it regarding their sexual activities, their looks, political affiliations, whatever the topic at hand is. **

If it's your choice to use those terms then you do that. It doesn't mean other people have to like or agree with you.

Commenting on how bad a film is isn't quite the same, the film's not going to feel offended or consider you an insolent person I can't recall the last time a petrol pump took offence at my shock on seeing the price

ETA: **that doesn't mean not discussing it, or even arguing about it, just that there's no need - in my own very humble opinion - for name-calling.

Thanks for your reply. And to be honest, I'd never call a slut "a slut" to her face...but I would call a man-whore "a man-whore" to his face (albeit jokingly). So I guess there is a difference, as much as I try to tell myself there isn't

That's the problem with society they always want to stick a label on you.

To be honest Laura astounds me, because I can't quite believe someone so vapid can instill such distaste within me! She really really annoys me but there's just not much to her other than getting a man or lusting over them.

She and Marco have the attention of the camera now, we can't discuss much of anybody else because a) the producers love a showmance and will give more airtime to one unfortunately and b) there are a lot of people to cover in 2 houses and less than an hour do to it.

We're buggered trying to get much information about any of them really, hence the plethora of threads about Marco, Laura and the culture of slut-shaming, equality, etc.etc. All because we're being shown so little else.
