MoneySavingExpert on the shambles of Vodafone's new billing system
www.moneysavingexpert.com/phones/vodafone-bill-warning Quote:
If you're a Vodafone customer, check your bill NOW. Since it moved to a new billing platform last year, 1,000s have reported problems, including direct debits incorrectly set up, people being put on the wrong tariff and poor customer service.

I was put on a business plan rather than consumer one, but got it sorted quite easily. Some of it will be down to the changes in billing system, but also because shop staff also wanted to hit targets so put people on SME plans deliberately.
I'd still recommend Vodafone now their coverage has improved immeasurably, but agree that you need to check your bills - especially if you had any discounts applied. |

I've got a billing dispute with Vodafone. They are jokers.
I've had a Vodafone account active since February, at which point I also added a bundle for 300 minutes to 08 numbers. On my recent bill, I have been charged over £30 for calls to an 0870 number, even though the summary clearly shows that I have only used 205 out of the 300 minutes. In all, I was billed for 66 minutes of "out of bundle" usage for such calls. When I first approached Vodafone about the problem, they said they would contact their "leakage" team to get them to refund. What I didn't expect was for the "leakage" team to refuse to refund the charges, as the 0870 number in question is a call-through number. They are now claiming that the charge levied for the call to the 0870 number is in fact a charge for the onward call to the final destination. I've now sent a written complaint (via Special Delivery) so they can't pretend not to get it. I've also promised that the case will go to the Ombudsman if it's not resolved to my satisfaction (including a good will gesture). I really very very strongly advise people to steer clear of Vodafone at the moment. If you're already with them, then check your bills carefully. |

Are Vodafone correct in saying that it is a "call through" number? I'd check your Ts and Cs carefully, as many telcos do specifically exempt such numbers from discounts or bundles.
Not sure what the "charge for the onward call" business is about. |

Vodafone is a pathetic, vile excuse for a network and always will be.
The ONLY thing they've done that's in any way good is release the Smart Ultra 6. |
