Why is it only England fans who caused trouble at the Czech Rep vs Croatia match?

I am sure the OP will have evidence it's only England fans causing the trouble.

Background to the trouble from Croatian fans is very interesting. Apparently it comes down to a dispute between fans of Hajduk Split and the people running the Croatian Federation who have ties to Dinamo Zagreb.

Croatian journalist Aleksandar Holiga wrote about it in the aftermath of the swastika on the pitch in their qualifier v Italy https://www.theguardian.com/football...P=share_btn_tw

Given the ongoing battle it wouldn't be any surprise to see a repeat of the trouble in their next game and the serious prospect of them being booted out.

England fans speaking Spanish and wearing Spain shirts were arrested too apparently.

"Why is it only the English who cause trouble???"

We get the point.

No one is really saying that anymore though, so no need to milk it...

If this happens again, then I hope that UEFA have some guts and kick out Croatia, their fans doing what they did is totally unacceptable, there are no reasons at all to justify what their fans did.

Shame really as their team have played some lovely football, but you just cannot have such incidents on going throughout the tournament.

Slaven Bilić said something along those lines last yesterday after the match. I would echo what you say about not being at all surprised if there was a repetition in Croatia's next game. Indeed, it may well be the perpetrators of the trouble would regard it as a reward for their efforts if Croatia was expelled, since they apparently do not accept the legitimacy of the squad selection process. Not the sort of people I would want to be trapped in a lift with.

What has gone wrong at these euros with violence and incidents occurring everwhere involving multiple nations ?
I thought we had left this crap behind us, what's causing it now ?

Is it bad organisation and policing by the French ?
Have their resources become to stretched because of the terrorism threat and ongoing domestic troubles ?

Are the media blown things out of proportion ?

Or is their another reason why so many incidents are happening ?

If they cause trouble again, then the French authorities deserve a hell of a lot of criticism, but also Croatia should be thrown out, and Turkey being put through.

One thing I heard mentioned was that this Euros is seen as one of the few big 'opportunities' for hooligans in this stretch of international tournaments. If you think about it the World Cup in Brazil was too far to go for many European fans, the next World Cup is in Russia (very unattractive destination), the World Cup after that in Qatar (likewise not likely to be massively well attended) and the next Euros is split across Europe so not the same concentration of fans.

In the sick and twisted minds of these hooligans they don't want to miss this one big opportunity to be violent arseholes together until at least the 2024 Euros.

That makes a lot of sense. If you're part of some Euro 'firm' France is about as convenient a location as it gets for a ruck.

Idiotic way of thinking, quite what it proves by smashing up a local business, or delaying a match I have no idea.

They must have really small iq's.

They don't care about local businesses or a smoothly running tournament, I'm sure you've been told this a few times by now.

Don't expect evidence as that is likely to show it's not just the English, also don't expect anyone to admit they are wrong for saying it's just the English that's not the done thing when going on a anti English crusade.

It is just shocking why anyone would think doing such things could be considered positive in any way whatsoever.

They don't because they don't care, quite obviously. Even people with really small iqs would be able to grasp that.

But what do they gain from causing all of this havoc and carnage?

Self worth, pride, as I they would be very much in the minority there.

Right, you'll never understand the motivations behind it. That's good as you're not likely to rampage round Europe but got the message, so now you don't have to keep asking.

People involved in this kind of thing don't care about reputation outside the world they live in, and certainly don't give a shit about positive contributions to society or respect for others while doing so. It's not necessarily an intelligence thing either, as people from all walks of life have been known to be part of it.

I remember hearing a few decades back that in England is was more of a fight club that just used the football schedule as a way to arrange the fights
They didn't really care too much about the actual football.
Not sure about nowadays, probably about national pride of who's the toughest with England as a prime challenge due to history
