NOW THAT'S WHAT I CALL DRAKE !

But seriously though, check out the current i-Tunes top 40 [http://kworb.net/popuk/], weed out the (many) songs which featured on NOW 93 & what's left will very likely be on NOW 94. (Skip The Stone Roses as their songs have ,as yet in 27 years, never featured on a NOW compilation)

I know Prince singles used to appear on Now albums so I'm sure they will close disk 2 with a track in memory of Prince. I suspect it'll be the radio edit of Purple Rain that fades out just after 4 minutes during the guitar solo. Can't see the full 8 minute version appearing although didn't the full length version of American Pie by Don McLean feature on Now 20 in late 1991? I have it on cassette and, whilst i've never timed the song, it does seem to go on forever.

Anyways, my top 5 favourite singles at the moment are:

Kungs Vs Cookin' On 3 Burners - This Girl
Justin Timberlake - CAN'T STOP THE FEELING!
Clean Bandit feat. Louisa Johnson - Tears
Calvin Harris feat. Rihanna - This Is What You Came For
Galantis - No Money

I think it's pretty much a certainty that these will appear on Now 94.

How about a song by a single artist or group that doesn't feature anyone else

LOL

That would a little tricky considering the vast majority of chart hits have featured artists.

Still, there's always Justin Timberlake's "solo single" CAN'T STOP THE FEELING! or dance act Gallants with No Money that doesn't include a featured vocalist.

If "One Dance" carries on at the top until July, NOW 94 could be tying with NOW 4 and NOW 5 with one number one

I can't believe these still exist. I remember buying the first one on cassette back in about 83/84.....

The Now albums (and 'various artists'compilation albums in general) feel pointless to me since streaming is so huge thse days... plus I feel like chart music has become rather dull over the last two years or so, it says a lot to me that the best song on the last Now album came out in 1977

...but that was because some #1 singles were track listed on The Hits series in the 80s, whilst others would appear on the Now! albums.

I think both albums were owned by different record labels so artists signed to certain labels would have their songs appear on The Hits, whilst artists on other labels would appear on Now!

The last time there was an issue was in 2014 when Now 87 had many big hits not licensed to appear, as other record labels wanted to release a (very short lived) digital only rival compilation.

I dread to think what the track lists would be like now if Now! and The Hits were both still going strong. There would be a lot of minor hits and non top 75 singles getting track listed.

IMO the winter NOWS tend to be the best in the year regarding putting the best music on compared to what land on the Spring and Summer ones
