I have often found FIFA rankings to have a tenuous connection with reality. For instance, Switzerland - who were trounced home and away by England in qualifying - are currently ranked above France.
As for Poland, i am old enough to remember when they had a very fine football team, as far back as the 1974 World Cup finals . |

And just to confirm that, he misses a glorious chance.
One he airshotted a simple bouncing ball from 6 yards, the other he hit closer to the corner flag when rolled to him in the area, one was on target from c 30 yards and the other he shanked over from 6 yards

Polish shooting has been terrible. Bound to score sometime though.

Switzerland are above France due to France not having to play any competitive fixtures, due them them qualifying automatically as hosts, so unless you think friendly matches should count as much as actual competitive games, then surely you can see why the Swiss are ranked ahead of France??
Oh, I know how it happens, thanks. |

Is that guy who thinks the Republic are better than NI in here ATM? Even though NI are ranked 25th and Eire 33rd?
Bet the Republic are out first. |

NI aren't attacking at all. Such terrible tactics.

NI are a joke.
And the co-commentator is excruciatingly bias. Almost getting off on NI having a Mourinho-like bus in front of McGovern's goal |

Someone will say that. . . |

Lots of possession, little end product for Poland.
I understand that Northern Ireland have to play to their defensive strengths but I don't think it'll do the tournament any good for them to basically sit in for three draws in the group stage. |

Poland by far the better side in the first half, they'll be disappointed they're not in front.
NI are clearly playing for a point and so far it's job done. |

Probably the best defensive display of the tournament so far but offensively very poor from us. Lafferty needs someone else to play off as all his flicks are going nowhere.
Would happily take this scoreline at full time. |

poles should be leading.... irish defending well. if the poles get 1 you can see the floodgates opening.

10 goals in 5.5 games so far, less than 2 a game on average.
Northern Ireland will play their part in bringing it down.

Robin Williams as the genie in Aladdin on CH4 is a lot more fun than the half-time analysis
