Group D: Turkey vs Croatia - KO 2pm, ITV1/HD
The game will also be broadcast online at ITV Hub and on BBC Radio 5 Live and talkSPORT.
Many consider Croatia as dark horses to win the tournament. Turkey enter the game unbeaten in their last 8 competitive matches. They've met 6 times before, Croatia winning 2, the other 4 ending all square although one of those includes their classic Euro 2008 Quarter-Final which Turkey went on to win on penalties. |

This game will be a good test of Croatia's title winning credentials. The Turks have proven themselves to be a good battling side and they seem inspired playing for their nation.

I've got a little dark horse bet on Croatia to win the tournament, so I'm hoping to see the best from the likes of Mandzukic and Rakitic who has the play-making ability to influence any game he plays in.
Mind, Turkey look a decent side. Didn't exactly make it easy for England. |

the euro 2008 quarter final between the 2 was a brilliant game... this should be a really good game too... both sides are technically excellent... in fact this should be a really good group to watch full stop...

Don't know that much about either side in this, particularly Turkey who didn't see against England recently. Still, based on what appears to be a decent record lately and their knack of occasionally having good runs in tournaments I might have a small bet covering Turkey and the draw. Just really small stakes that I won't care about losing so that I have more of an interest.
16/5 Turkey , 23/10 the draw = around 5/6 if splitting correctly (44% and 56% of total stake). Better than the actual double chance odds of 8/11 at Skybet. Might be better odds elsewhere but I haven't looked. |

No Yilmaz up front for Turkey? He is one of about 3 players I am aware of for them, at least his good goalscoring record. Thought he was their main man (20 goals in 44) and he scored in their most recent friendly too.

This could be a good early test of Croatia's credentials.
I thought Turkey were the best of the three opponents England played in their pre-tournament friendlies; they looked composed, they passed well and defended tightly. |

Croatia always seem to be really highly rated at tournaments but tend to flatter to deceive
Turkey seem to always sneak through groups |

Tufan should have put that away, no question.
Terrific cross from the right wing to find him. |
