Since mine is showing its age Im looking for a new stand for a 55"tv. Needs at least 4 shelves for my amp, sky q, blu ray player and xbox one. any suggestions would be appreciated. This mine.

A stand large enough for a 55" TV set will be wide enough to place two devices side by side so you only really need two shelves. You can also create extra shelvage by using a plinth like this
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 But be aware to use that for low heat devices such as the HDMI switch I put on mine as it may reduced the ventilation gaps to under the usual recommended 10cm all round. |

Seen is this. http://www.dunelm.com/product/langha...nit-1000058738 just the size im looking for but it doesn't say what size tv it supports although to be fair these new tvs are not heavy anyway. If its possible i can convert the 2 drawers into shelves.

You didn't say what budget. I quite like Dwell's modern styling: https://dwell.co.uk/products/lounge/...46921328:pos-1
I bought the Malone three draw unit recently for my 55" tv. Had the floating shelf unit previously but left that at my previous place as just a tad too large for my new lounge. |

I spent ages looking for a decent shelving unit, with no back and at least 4 shelfs, and at least 1.5m's long. In the end I bought one from Audio T, it's modular so you can add shelves in the future, change height etc. It did cost £800 but well worth it in the end.
My main problem was either, they weren't long enough, or if you got the length, they were like 12" off the floor. |

I'm sure there's a market out there, all the longer units I saw were literally 12"-16" units that sat on the floor., who the hell puts there TV that low.
I love the one I got, they came in 2 different lengths 1m and 1.5m, and you basically specced the legs/shelf supports to any length. So the Bottom one is slightly taller to allow for my centre speaker and the next 2 of 14" high. I did run into a problem when I updated my Yamaha AV unit, it seems in the 10 years or so these units have got decidedly taller. I had the option of ordering some new supports, but felt it would then make my TV too high, so went with the Marantz slimeline AV unit. I love all these so called AV units that have 2 or 3 shelfs at about 600mm long, don't they realise now a days most people have at least 2/3 units under their TV's. |

Height of my unit at 58cm is perfect for me. The one i was gonna get from dunelm mills is only available online. http://go.redirectingat.com/?id=127X...co.uk%2F&xtz=0
Thats a problem because i dont know how much gap there is between each shelve To know if it can fit my amp. Seen this should fit my amp. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Mountright-...rds=Tv++stands |

The larger the TV the lower the stand should be. I just check my 50" TV that is pretty much perfect and that is 18" but that is a built in stand so could knock a couple of inches or so off for a separate stand and the above seems okay. Certainly 12"-16" is the right height for a 65" TV and a typical sofa though you would want a much higher stand for a 32" TV.
And do I really what to consider putting my tv inches from the floor? |
