Hughie

Hmmmmmmm - I quite like him - after tonight though I'm not quite sure just how 'normal' he is

He's certainly not covering himself in glory (and I'm biased as I've backed him to win) but I'm hoping it's just the 'Natalie effect'. Both Jayne and Hughie keep fleeing her and she sure knows how to get under peoples' skin, then dismisses them as fools when they react.

I'd like to see Hughie in the other house away from her. I think he's a nice guy and wants to get on with people, but I also like that he sticks up for himself, not just with Natalie but we've seen it with Alex and Ryan too.

But he sure needs to get a grip of his frustration or he'll ruin his chances.

Andy is the only one I like, so far.

The superficiality and vacuousness of the others is really dull.

He's not.
He's basing his opinion the way we do on here.
If he is still there in a couple of weeks time he may have a different opinion.

He's my favourite. It's quite worrying really. These.people have no passions or imterests to talk about. It's a sad state of affairs.

I feel sorry for Andy he lost a good job for speaking out and now he has to put with all this nonsense and yes I know it was his choice to go in the house but I feel he lost a job for speaking out whilst others in the house will be getting jobs on the outside for sh###ing around/ being agressive.

I think you're right.

I really hope he does - I have a bit of a soft spot for him. I don't think he's my wnner (early days) but he seems to have a good heart.

Love Andy. It's a shame he's been put amongst such pond life.

I agree with him and I could see it being like this right from the start. Constant boring conversations about their shallow and vacuous lives like 'guess how many people I've shagged', 'I've been to so many parties', 'do you know how much my clothes cost', hardly a drop of intelligence between them. I never expect intelligent conversations on BB but this lot seem to be a new level of shallow

And apart from Marco, whose conversations would have been restricted to those topics? The other HMs probably don't want to get into discussions based around his own agenda.

Oh I really like Andy, in fact he is the only one I like! He must have hoped for at least one or two fairly sane people in amongst the vapid wannabees, it's a shame he is stuck with the crowd that are in.

Great speech/expression by Andy there. Probably my favorite scene of the episode.

The way he explained that he talked with Georgina about World War 2... for 5 minutes, and then back to fake tan. And the stuff about Lateysha's boobs rather than her kid was deep.

The "what have you fought for" in contrast to all the hollow stuff and cheap thrills line was powerful.

You could feel for Andy every moment of that DR session. Liking Andy. He's in the running for a favorite of the season.

I agree, I would rather watch Andy have a decent conversation with somebody than Marco shoving his hand down Lauras knickers.

I quite like Andy but he must of known what to expect by going in the house.
How often do BB put really intelligent housemates in?

If he manages to keep his sanity whilst in there, he'll deserve to win for that alone.

BIB I agree. He's the only person I liked on launch night, but I really fear for his sanity if he stays in that house - I don't think he's equipped to stand all that bull.

It's not about eccentrics or normal. It's more about people just put in for looks or as a stepping stone for their z-list career. Of course they do put some young people in who can be quite immature as well, but that doesn't necessarily mean eccentric, it normally just means very boring.

I can't see him lasting

I reckon he'll do a Lesley BB8 before too long and walk out due to sheer boredom

Andy seems absolutely lovely. Slightly self-deprecating and, I suspect, capable of being quite witty. I'd love a house full of Andy-types; but that ain't going to happen. I've a feeling he and Georgina are keeping each other sane.

A lot of the viewers won't like him though because, like many of the housemates, they can't get their heads around why drug-taking and shagging oneupmanship isn't scintillating for everyone.

I've noticed a few little things with Andy that I've really liked but one that really stood out was when the rest of the sheep went off for a daft hug and dance (like a bunch of baffled toddlers) after Andrew's 'snake' speech, Andy stayed with Andrew. As did Jason and, briefly, Evelyn. Then Evelyn caught herself on and ruined it all by running over to the others screeching 'don't leave me with the evil ones'. I keep thinking re Evelyn, 'maybe, maybe...... maybe not'.

Love Andy though. Marco and Laura's shenanigans are good only as an appetite suppressant and while Natalie and Hughie's screaming matches can be entertaining (well, his side anyway) they're already wearing thin.

I agree with a lot of this. It must be so frustrating to be around people so focused on shallow achievements, for lack of a better word. It's not even an intellectual thing, it's more about standards.

I agree with your summation on Evelyn too, whenever she was giving her opinion to Andrew about the way he came in I was really liking her, thinking she was more mature than the others, but the infantile way she ran away and made the "evil ones" comment, brought that all to a grinding halt. I think there's potential with her thought.
