TV Booster Question
Hi I hope someone can help, this might sound a dumb question but what would happen if was to connect 2 tv boosters in-line with each other to try and increase signal strength on digital terestrial.
Thanks In Advance Of Any Help. |

A normal booster amplifier, if fed with a poor signal, will just amplify all the noise. It will not "improve" the signal. If anything, the signal will be slightly worse, as the booster will introduce some noise of its own. Using 2 boosters will make matters far worse.
Boosters are really designed to take a good signal, and send it to several different devices, boosting each output back to the original input level. If you have a reasonable signal, but it is a bit weak for your TV, a booster may be acceptable. If your signal is bad, the only solution is a better aerial, a masthead amplifier, or both together. |

Hi and thanks for you reply , the main reason for asking the question was we cannot adjust the main tv arerial on our property as it is rented , I think I might try and get hold of our landlord and see if he will go halfs on replaceing it because the analogue signal is pants and the aerial does look a tad old. It makes sense what you said about noise being amplified and made worse I had a simular instance in my CB Radio days with pre amps all I found was it made the noise things 10 times worse.
