Yeah, agreed. They did have a brief spell after they conceded though.

That's a nasty one from Granqvist.

Full time: one point gained or two lost?

They're a rather physical and brutish side IMO

A point gained I would say.....they're still very much in the tournament

i think most of us thought this would be the tightest of all groups... no reason to think otherwise after watching this game.

A bit disappointed for Ireland given some of the changes they played but 1-1 was probably a fair result and the one most of us predicted. Decent game too.

Good effort from the Irish and a very enjoyable game overall.

Damien Delaney would never have scored that own goal.

Probably not an ideal result for either team - will need results against one of Italy and Belgium.

Really good effort from Ireland, well worth at least a point. They were obviously exhausted at the end and had to hang on a bit, but they created plenty of chances and played some good stuff, especially in the first half. They will be no push over for anyone.

It'll be interesting to see how Italy shape up tonight. Everyone seems to think it'll be another weak year from them. Their performance will tell us a lot about the prospects of these two teams. I think Ireland can have a go at them.

I think the Republic could manage it....Belgium and Italy will be big favourites to beat them which suits the Irish

Good to see that Wes Hoolahan sees it as a point gained rather than two points dropped

Hmm, not sure how to feel. Ireland were clearly better in the first half and obviously at the beginning of the second, but Sweden really stepped it up after conceding the goal. Overall I think an Ireland win would have been fairer but a 1-1 draw isn't too bad either. And Ireland still scored twice, so...

I had a funny feeling before the tournament that Ireland might draw against the Swedes and then shock one of Belgium or Italy

Ireland impressed me. I thought Sweden were awful until they went behind. Zlatan very poor.

Belgium look like they're there for the taking based on their performance so far.

Belgium the most overated team of the last few years. I fancy Ireland against them on their showing so far.
