Latest estimates are that there are 100,000 Irish fans in Paris (!)
Is there anybody left in Ireland?!

It was sung in good nature, the NI fans were laughing along.
Ah, I see. Their fans are great fun and know how to party.

Do NI supporters also tend to root for the ROI and vice-versa?

Not a clear answer on that one. In the past, probably not but I think most fans are pretty good-willed towards each other.

I went to the same school as Martin O'Neill (about 40 years later in fairness.)

Northern Ireland supporter here but cheering on the Republic today, hope at least one half of Ireland can get off to a good start!

Also heard that the ROI fans have organised a minute's applause for the Northern Ireland fan who died in Nice yesterday. Great to see true fans on both sides of the border reclaiming the sport from the bigots!

Must be the biggest travelling support of any of the 23 visiting teams by some distance

Expecting quite an ugly game that ends 1-1
The Irish aren't afraid to get stuck in - although I wonder how much of that will be reserved exclusively for Zlatan if they feel that if you stop him, you stop the Swedes collectively.

He is coming off a great personal season, so he will be in a great place mentally, and most likely having already having his future sorted out after the tournament, so only having this to focus on, will mean he will be very dangerous.
Yes, he's said he feels "better than ever" and was Ligue 1 Top Scorer this season yet again. He's in superb form and will be a massive threat- can't see ROI's defenders holding out against him to be honest.

He knows what club he's going to and he's in a really good position just to focus on the team as you say. This could be the beginning of a very special tournament for Sweden and Ibrahimovic.

Apparently Irish and Swedish fans have been ordering rounds of beer and drinking with each other and both fans have been singing loudly, but it's been friendly. That's what football should be.

That is great to see, if only all nations could be as jovial together.

Well, Ibrahimović has had a terrific build up from you guys for this match. I see he hasn't scored for Sweden since November 2015, so I guess he has been saving himself for the big one this year. Hope you are all right as he can be very spectacular.

I think it helps if you don't boo the oppositions national anthem; England's fans haven't worked that out yet.

Were it that all countries had an anthem as stirring as Ireland's.
