Ireland doing everything right but still only 0-0 against what looks like one of the worst teams in the competition. Certainly no team has played worse than Sweden have so far.
There's an element of Ireland making them look a poor team too....this is a good Irish side

Turkey and Northern Ireland
Were Turkey that bad?

I thought they held their own against Croatia.

Ireland doing very, very well in marking Ibrahimovic.

Ibrahimovic is doing better defensively then he is attacking, which is great credit to the Irish.

Yeah, need to take one of these chances. It's been a frustrating half so far.

I agree Ireland have been good, but Sweden have offered very little indeed when they have had the ball. As always with every chance not taken the sense grows of Ireland being made to pay. Surely Sweden will not play so poorly in the second half?

Is it just Germany and France who have scored twice, would be nice if someone else could do likewise, so hopefully in the second half that will be Ireland.

WHAT do they have to do to score a goal?

I'm hoping if I post this we'll get one.

Only a minute? Just used at least 3 for that injury.

Ireland always play to the last minute though....there's no chance they'll settle for a draw

I'm very hopeful for this tournament now though : this is a very good and well organised Irish side

Extremely impressive. I don't care how bad Sweden are, Ireland are playing them off the park and have seriously threatened that goal 4/5 times.

Didn't know much about Jeff Hendrick before this match but he was excellent in that half.

The Swedish defence were retreating in fear every time he ran at them.

Good half from the Irish. Unlucky not to be in front. Should be in front.

Good to hear. They hopefully will not need reminding that even if they massacre the other side on points, they still need to score at least one goal to actually win. I feel like I am reliving the England v Russia game and I really would rather not do that

Every striker who came in with some sort of reputation has so far been rotten

Giroud - awful but at least scored
Griezmann - anonymous
Muller - poor
Lewandowski - barely had a kick
Morata - hauled off after 60 minutes
Kane - average
Vardy - didn't even play!
Zlatan - TBC....
All setup for Ronaldo to make this tournament his own? Or Hazard? He was coming into form for Chelsea last month

They are the masters of the 1-0 win under O'Neill : hopefully he fires them up at halftime

Oh yeah, agreed. But the longer they go without taking the lead, the more Sweden will think they can nick it.
