The game will also be broadcast online at ITV Hub and on BBC Radio 5 Live and talkSPORT.

Spain begin their quest for a record 4th European crown. They haven't conceded a single goal in their last 510 minutes at a European Championship finals. They are also unbeaten in their 4 encounters against the Czech Republic since the break up of Czechoslovakia.

The Czechs, though, are pretty decent in the group stages of the Euros having won 7 of their last 10 group games.

This match has the potential to be a right corker, both sides have some very talented players, however I do expect that Spain will just about have enough to get the win.

Not that convinced by the Czech Republic personally.

Looking at their form in qualifying, narrows wins over the likes of Latvia and Kazakhstan don't read that well, and they were comprehensively beaten by Turkey who offered little yesterday. Defeats to Iceland and more recently Scotland in a friendly also ring alarm bells.

It's also not a good time to be playing Spain who I imagine will be keen to put their World Cup flop firmly behind them and start as strongly as possible.

Prediction: Spain to win by at least 2 clear goals.

Hopefully De Gea will start, as it pure madness that there is any debate at all over if he should or not.

Is there really a debate over his starting position?

Yes he wasn't "favourite" to start today, Casillas was and usually is.

He is a popular celebrity as well as talented goalie mainly because his wife is the lead presenter of the biggest sports channel in Spain.
There would have been an uproar if he had been dropped 2 years ago but due to De Gea's unbelievable form the public must think this this is now the right decision.

He may be Justin Bieber of Spain, but he's the best/only goal keeper they have and there shouldn't even be a question over his place given that he is one of the best goal keepers in the world and Casillas is now one of the worst.

De Gea has a right to think not only is he their best keeper, but also one of, if not their best player in the whole squad, so for there to be any hint of him not starting, was quite frankly ludicrous.

I am very happy that politics and coaches pet syndrome have not won out today, and that De Gea starts.

Good to see some recognised strikers in for Spain, a shame Koke isn't in the staring 11 though, would have like to have seen him in there for Silva.

A Facebook pal of mine has done the permutations and has the Czechs winning the tournament. I think that may be a bit optimistic but we shall soon see.

I remember Tomas Rosicky.

Played for an English club, if memory serves.

Well yeah... it's the Soviet Union one for which they have rewritten words for the 3rd time (and the words are pretty nonsensical)

Rosicky has played more international games than club games in the last 9 years for Arsenal

I suppose if you are going to play Spain, then dong so in their first match of the tournament is the best time to do so, hoping to catch them before they have got into their groove.
