The go 1 nil up and sit back strategy simply does not work anymore and certainly wont work with this England team. It did 20 years ago or so when Italian teams were dominant, its an Italian style of play, but the Italians have always been known for having a rock solid defense. England do not have a rock solid defense. I hope Hodgson does not think he can implement that strategy in England's game because he simply cannot. The fact Germany the world cup winners of 2 years ago destroyed Brazil OF ALL TEAMS by 7 goals to 1 just underlines this. Teams who are going to win this tournament will keep attacking. We do not have the defence to try and hold on to a 1-0 lead. Simple as that. It is quite alarming to think Roy actually tried to hang on to a slim 1-0 lead when you look at the substitutions he made around the 70 min mark. I hope he wakes up and realises we CANNOT try and hang on to such a slim lead with our average defence. Sterling was not the greatest player in the last game, but he was occupying the Russian defense with his pace. Attack is probably our best form of defense in this tournament and Hodgson needs to realise we need more players who can put the ball in the back of the net. I hope he does not wait to long too realise this. Sturridge where are you?

If Rooney's in midfield and Kane is taking the corners, then Wales should win. Rooney plays with his head down so much these days you wonder why he bothers to turn up.

So as an englishman i hope Wales play the same formation and system tomorrow, because i dont think they can win playing that way.”

Maybe not the first XI, but when you consider Delph was a squad staple through qualifying I think Ramsey would find a place.

England will beat Wales comfortably.

Head-England. Heart (and soul!) - Wales.

Was, umm, minus 11 last time Wales were in a major tournament, so this is all new to me. If we hustle and harry and play out of our skins, who knows? A draw would be cool so we're top going into the last group match. (my Welsh pessimism kicks in when I think ahead to Russia. They've been woeful, but surely they'll actually turn up for a whole 90 minutes at some point?!)

It's an exciting prospect and will *try* to enjoy the game, despite already getting a bit jittery!

What makes you think it will be a comfortable England win?

Someone said Wales never do anything comfortably but the same can definitely be said about England too, more so when it comes to the big tournament games.

I'm hoping we're following the Euro 96 pattern.....draw the the first game 1 - 1 then play against a Britsh side in game 2 (which would mean England 2 - 0 Bales)

For 92 minutes my prediction was looking spot on. Delighted Sturridge proved me wrong

I think 4 points means England are through regardless of what happens in the last game and Wales with Russia to come should easily qualify too.
